•    15th  Mass Run against Drug Abuse organized at India Gate to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse & illicit Trafficking

To observe the International Day against Drug Abuse & illicit trafficking the Mass Event “Run against Drug Abuse”    was organized as joint Venture  of    Directorate of Prohibition, Govt of Delhi,  NISD Ministry of Social justice & Empowerment  Govt of India, Narcotics Control Bureau, Govt of India.The event has proved to be of great value for awareness on drug abuse all over India and has attracted attention because of its all India reach.

This is the 15th year in a row for the Mass Run Event against Drug Abuse on 28 June to mark the Int’l Day against Drug Abuse & illicit Trafficking. The morning hours were full of actions with the 1km Race, Thematic cultural show, Theme Poster making, “Shapath’ by all 5000 participants with the Minister followed by the Run & Walkathon.  

Union Minister of MSJE Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot, MOS Shri Vijay Sampla, Dy Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Manish Sisodia , Secretary & Jt Secretary of the Ministry, DG of Narcotics Control Bureau, DGs from Para Military Forces,  CMDs /Executive Directors of the Partner organizations joining the Pledge & Flag off Ceremony & Symbolic Walkathon.

This year’s Theme ‘Listen First’ is an initiative started in 2016 to increase support for prevention of drug use that is based on science and is thus an effective investment in the well-being of children and youth, their families and their communities.

All the activities were planned keeping the Drug Abuse preventive measures in the focus and indulging in sports & the physical activities is one of the key roles to keep children & youth away from drugs and channelize their energy into positive mode.

From Delhi & NCR, Ludhiana, Patiala more than 30 organizations took part in the Mass event.
