3-Tier Healthcare Model

Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics (AAMCs)

  • 2 crore OPDs have been handled at AAMCs since 2015 (upto Nov 2019).
  • According to an article by Scroll, “Globally, a person visits the hospital three times a year on average, compared to one visit a year in India, according to the research paper published in January 2020 in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care. After Mohalla Clinics were set up in Delhi, a person visited the doctor 5.6 times per year, on average, the paper found.”

Multi-Speciality Polyclinics 

  • The number of people taking diagnostic tests saw a 10-fold increase in just 3.5 years between 2016-17 and Sep 2019. 15 lakh tests were done in just 6 months of FY 2020 (up from about 1.51 lakh tests done in FY 2017) (Source: Pg. 8, DDC Perf Report 2015-2019)

Speciality Hospitals

DAK Scheme

  • Healthcare has become more accessible through the DAK scheme.

Bike Ambulances

  • 16 operational First Response Vehicles attended to 1095 patients in the first 9 months between Feb and Oct 2019.
  • In the 1st 8 months, by 1st Oct 2019, these FRVs had saved 700 lives in Delhi.

Farishte Dilli Ke 

  • By Dec 2019, more than 3000 medico-legal victims had availed of the cashless treatment in private hospitals and 98 individuals had been identified as Good Samaritans. (Source: Pg. 11, DDC Performance Report 2015-2019)

Dengue Cases

  • With the AAP government’s efforts and its aggressive ‘10 Hafte 10 Baje 10 Minute’ campaign to build public awareness, there was a 92% reduction in Dengue cases between 2015 and Dec 2019, and the number of dengue deaths came down from 60 to 0 in this period. 
  • As of 17th Oct 2020, there were only 395 dengue cases reported in 2020-2021.

Immunizations

  • In 2020-2021, by end-Dec 2020, about 1.82 lakh children of 9-11 months age up were fully immunized against the annual target of 2.96 lakh children.

School Health Scheme – Health/Nutritional Status, Health Screening, Mass Deworming, Iron Folic Acid Supplementation Programme of school children

  • Under the School Health Scheme, students of 242 schools were checked for Health/Nutritional status between April and Dec 2019. Out of 2.94 lakh children, screened, 1.20 lakh children were counselled/ treated for general health issues.  Under this Scheme, every school is covered once every three years for complete health screening.

  • Vigilance – Drug Control Deptt. inspected about 3,073 sales forms and suspended or cancelled 397 licences till December 2020 in respect of forms found violating norms.
