AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh will file a criminal defamation case against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials for falsely naming him in their chargesheet. Shri Sanjay Singh has accused ED of targeting him after he raised his voice against the agency’s actions in the parliament. The MP had given a speech on ED-CBI in the parliament on 12th December 2022, and his name appeared in ED’s chargesheet on 6th January 2023. The AAP MP also mentioned that he will file a criminal defamation case against ED director SK Mishra, officer Bhanu Priya who signed the charge sheet, and IO Joginder Singh.

Shri Sanjay Singh also alleged that he had sought an appointment with ED 11 times to give information on the Adani scam. However, his facts were received with great difficulty after two months.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Shri Sanjay Singh revealed the shocking truth about how the ED is involved in making false cases without any facts or evidence, and how his name was included in the ED’s fake charge sheet. After presenting hard evidence that completely clears his name from the ED’s allegations, the Rajya Sabha member called for a fight for justice and truth against the corrupt practices of the ED. He also said that he will file a criminal defamation case against the ED officials who have filed the completely fabricated charge sheet against him and will expose them.

He invited all citizens who have been victimised by the agency’s false allegations to come forward and inform him. He said, “As the Privileges Committee of the Parliament has asked me to expose how the ED is fabricating false cases, I will bring your case and information before the Parliament of India’s Privileges Committee. It’s time to hold the ED accountable for their abuse of power and false accusations.”

He addressed the charge sheet filed by ED against him on January 6 2023, claiming that on 1st October 2022, Dinesh Arora had told the ED that the transfer of a liquor shop of Amit Arora was done by Manish Sisodia on the direction of Sanjay Singh. Shri Sanjay Singh presented the hard evidence of Dinesh Arora’s statement to the court or in his ED testimony and clarified that his name was thrown into the mix by the ED in their charge sheet despite the same. He alleged that the ED created a false charge sheet by creating a fake case, simply because he is speaking out against Modi-Adani corruption.

Shri Sanjay Singh presented to the media Dinesh Arora’s statement, which ED had recorded on 1st October 2022 which mentions that the Excise Commissioner Rahul Singh transferred Amit Arora’s shop in a routine manner. There was no mention of Sanjay Singh’s name even remotely in Dinesh Arora’s statement recorded by the ED.

Shri Sanjay Singh also presented Dinesh Arora’s statement to the court under section 164, which states that when Amit Arora insisted that Dinesh Arora bring up the matter of his shop’s transfer, neither did Dinesh Arora talk to the then Deputy CM nor to Sanjay Singh. In fact, he also added that as per his knowledge, AAP leaders are known to be against drinking alcohol, and neither Manish Sisodia nor Sanjay Singh consume alcohol.

Dinesh Arora further writes in his statement to the court that Amit Arora had told him that he brought Rahul Singh, the new Excise Commissioner, into his position and Amit Arora arranged a meeting between Rahul Singh and Dinesh Arora. Further, when Amit Arora insisted that Dinesh Arora talk to the then Deputy CM about the matter, then he said that he will see about it. On March 23rd, he received a call from Rahul Singh that the transfer request of his liquor shop had been approved in a routine way after following the due process.

Shri Sanjay Singh questioned the Prime Ministers of India and the ED about why his name was included in the charge sheet when it was not implicated in any statement recorded before the ED or the court. He accused the ED of attempting to defame him by spreading false news against him in the media. Furthermore, he alleged that the BJP also organised a press conference to defame him.

Shri Sanjay Singh hit back at ED’s defamation campaign against him and said, “The ED’s attempt to implicate me in a fabricated case is nothing but a political move to suppress my voice against the Adani scam and the corrupt Modi government. It is evident that the ED is creating a false case to fulfill its own agenda. I won’t be silenced by their baseless accusations and intimidation tactics. This is a dangerous game the ED is playing, and I won’t let them get away with it. Narendra Modi may have set a retirement age for himself at 75 years, but when the ED officers get caught in the processes of justice, there will be no escape. The ED needs to be held accountable for their dangerous game, and the truth must prevail.

Shri Sanjay Singh also expressed his frustration with the media’s role in tarnishing his reputation through false accusations and stated that his name was shamefully included in the ED charge sheet, despite having no involvement in the matter. He said, “I have lived a life of unimpeachable honesty and integrity, yet I find myself unjustly targeted by the ED. Why is my name being dragged into matters that have nothing to do with me?”

He said that he will file a criminal defamation case against the ED’s Director Sanjay Kumar Mishra, the ED officer who signed the false charge sheet, Bhanupriya, and the Investigation Officer Joginder Singh, and expose them.

He proudly showed his speech delivered in the Parliament on 12th December 2022, where he brought to light the misuse of power by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In his speech, he had pointed out that despite the ED conducting 3000 raids over the last 8 years, their conviction rate is a mere 0.5%, and they are falsely implicating innocent people in fabricated cases. He said, “When I raised this issue in Parliament, the Deputy Chairman asked me to provide evidence to the Privileges Committee to support my claims.”

He said, “On December 12, I spoke out against the misuse of the ED, and just a few weeks later, my name was added to their charge sheet. Despite the fact that Dinesh Arora did not mention my name in his statement to the court or in front of the ED, the agency still included me in their charge sheet.”

He said, “This begs the question: has the ED become more powerful than the Parliament of India? The fact that they can include a member of Parliament in their charge sheet without any evidence is deeply concerning.”

He said, “As the Privileges Committee of the Parliament has asked me to expose how the ED is fabricating false cases, I urge anyone who has been a victim of the agency’s false allegations to come forward and inform me. I will bring your case and information before the Parliament of India’s Privileges Committee. It’s time to hold the ED accountable for their abuse of power and false accusations.”

Shri Sanjay Singh also announced that he has finally managed to get the Adani scam complaint delivered to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after numerous attempts. He had earlier requested an appointment with the ED 11 times to share details on the Adani scam with them, but he had received no response. It took months of persistent effort to finally get a response email from them. After months of efforts, his team received an email stating that they should get the complaint delivered in person in a closed envelope. The complaint has now been received by the ED and Shri Sanjay Singh hopes that any investigation into the matter will uncover all the facts and information related to the Adani scam.
