Senior AAP leader Ms. Atishi asserts on Thursday that the BJP and PM Narendra Modi are endangering the life of Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Ms. Atishi said that Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s request for a 7-day interim bail to undergo kidney, heart, and cancer checkups was opposed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which she described as the BJP’s political weapon. She highlighted the contrast between this denial and the ED’s approval of regular bail for Sarath Reddy due to back pain. Ms. Atishi emphasized the urgency of Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s medical needs, pointing out his significant weight loss in custody and dangerously high ketone levels, which have prompted doctors to recommend comprehensive tests, including a blood test, cardiac test, and full-body PET CT scan.
Senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister in the Kejriwal government Ms. Atishi said that Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal had filed a petition in Rouse Avenue Court for 7 days interim bail. Shri Arvind Kejriwal had sought 7 days interim bail to get health checkup and medical checkup done because during the time Shri Arvind Kejriwal was in ED custody and judicial custody, his weight decreased by 6-7 kg. Such sudden and unexpected weight loss is considered a sign of many serious diseases. His ketone level has also reached dangerous levels and his sugar level is also continuously high.
The Senior AAP Leader continued, stating, “Shri Arvind Kejriwal got himself examined by the doctors at Max and the doctors prescribed several tests for him. The doctors not only prescribed the tests in a sequence that Shri Arvind Kejriwal will first have to undergo some blood tests, then some cardiac tests, after which a PET CT scan of the entire body will have to be done.”
She further added that doctors prescribed so many tests to Shri Arvind Kejriwal because sudden and unexpected weight loss and high ketone levels can be a sign of serious kidney disease, cardiac problems, and can also be a sign of cancer. And in all these diseases, early detection is very important for treatment, the sooner the disease is detected, the more successful its treatment is.
Ms. Atishi mentioned that Shri Arvind Kejriwal had asked for only seven days from ED to get all these checkups done but today in Rouse Avenue Court, BJP’s political weapon ED strongly opposed the 7-day interim bail granted to Shri Arvind Kejriwal to get his medical checkup done. ED lawyers from the BJP’s side, reached the court and kept fighting that Shri Arvind Kejriwal should not get 7-day bail, in which he could get his cardiac checkup, kidney checkup, cancer checkup done.
Ms. Atishi asked, “The BJP and PM Modi should explain why they are opposing Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s medical checkup? Under what conspiracy are they not allowing the serious medical checkup suggested by the doctors for Shri Arvind Kejriwal? The BJP and Prime Minister should explain what was done to Shri Arvind Kejriwal in the ED custody and judicial custody that Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s weight suddenly and unexpectedly decreased. What was done to him in custody that in his 56 years of life, Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s ketone level never increased but after 51 days of custody, his ketone level reached dangerous levels?
“We all know that dictatorial governments put their opponents in jail and try to ruin their health and kill them in various ways. We have all seen how Russian President Vladimir Putin put all opposition leaders in jail, many of whom died in jail. After that Putin contested the elections alone and won the elections. Today it seems that BJP and PM Modi are also trying to do something similar and are playing with the life of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Because when the doctors want to get Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s PET CT scan done for cancer, want to get tests done for kidney diseases, want to get a serious checkup done for heart diseases, then why is ED-BJP opposing it,” She said.
Ms. Atishi shared, “This is the same BJP’s ED which got Sarath Reddy and Raghav Magunta Reddy permanent bail in the name of back pain. While in normal offices people do not get half day leave in the name of back pain, the same ED granted permanent bail to Sarath Reddy and Raghav Magunta Reddy immediately after giving statement against Shri Arvind Kejriwal and did not even oppose it. But when Shri Arvind Kejriwal asks for interim bail of just 7 days for kidney checkup, heart checkup, cancer detection, then ED lawyer, BJP lawyer stand in the court and oppose it.”
Ms. Atishi appealed to the people of the country, the people of the Lok Sabha constituencies where elections are going to be held in the last phase after 2 days, and said that Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life, his health is now in the hands of the people. If BJP wins, not only will Shri Arvind Kejriwal go to jail, but BJP and PM Narendra Modi can also kill Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail. Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s health is being played with. Therefore, it is important that the people vote against BJP, vote to save Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life, vote for Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s good health because now Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life is in people’s hands.
