The Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State Convener and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai today held Sankalp Sabha in Laxmi Nagar Assembly and Shahdara Assembly of East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency under the ‘Jail Ka Jawab Se Vote’ campaign.
On this occasion, a large number of people present there, including AAP candidate Shri Kuldeep Kumar and local MLA from INDIA alliance, took the oath to ‘answer the jail by voting’. Shri Gopal Rai said that this time the people of Delhi do not want useless MPs but working MPs. Therefore, Delhi has decided to give all the seven seats to the INDIA alliance. The people of Delhi had trusted Narendra Modi and gave all the seven seats to the BJP twice. The BJP MPs have not done a single work for the people of Delhi in 10 years. At the same time, the INDIA alliance candidate Shri Kuldeep Kumar has made a record of working in his area while being a councillor and MLA. Once he becomes the MP, he will also break the record of work of the BJP MPs.
Addressing the Sankalp Sabha in Laxmi Nagar, Shri Gopal Rai said that the entire country is waiting for June 4. Phase-wise elections have been held in the country; the sixth phase of elections is going to be held in Delhi on 26th May. This time, both Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are contesting the elections together under the INDIA alliance. Ever since these elections have started, from the national leadership of the BJP to the leaders of your locality, BJP’s only response to the issues including 2 crore jobs, rising inflation, atrocities on youth and farmers, is their slogan of ‘400 Paar’. Even after 10 years of the BJP government, there are no answers to people’s questions. For 10 years, the youth, farmers, labourers and women of this country have seen their voices being suppressed by this government through dictatorship. Now people across the country are raising slogans of BJP’s defeat this time. This time BJP’s injection is not working in the country.
Shri Gopal Rai said that today the nomination of all the candidates of INDIA alliance has been completed in Delhi, and the people of Delhi are also raising slogans in one voice to defeat the BJP this time. This time, the BJP is going to lose from East Delhi also due to three reasons. First, the people of Delhi trusted him (referring to Gautam Gambhir) and made him the MP of Delhi, but he was not seen among the people even once. The same voice is being raised from all the assemblies of East Delhi that this time we should not elect useless MPs, this time we should elect MPs who work. Had the BJP been confident of victory, there would have been no need to change its candidate. The INDIA alliance has given such a candidate to East Delhi in the form of Shri Kuldeep Kumar, who has made a record of his excellent work during his tenure as a councillor and MLA. Once Shri Kuldeep Kumar becomes an MP, he will certainly break the records of the work of all the previous MPs.
Shri Gopal Rai said the second reason is that, till now, the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress used to contest elections separately in Delhi due to which votes were divided and the BJP won the elections. This time, each vote will be given to the candidate of INDIA alliance, and not even one vote will be shared. This time, the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress are fighting the elections together like a rock against this dictatorship. This alliance guarantees the victory of Shri Kuldeep Kumar.
He said the third reason is that the people of Delhi formed Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s government in Delhi with an overwhelming majority thrice. They have arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal thinking that he could not campaign in the elections. They froze the account of the Congress party thinking that it would disable them from campaigning. But the BJP’s move backfired.
Shri Gopal Rai stated that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not an individual, he is the Chief Minister elected by 2 crore people of Delhi. The public will not remain silent if Shri Arvind Kejriwal is kept in jail. He is in jail but the people who made him the Chief Minister are outside. Today, even some honest workers of the BJP believe that they (BJP-led Central government) did not do good by arresting Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Today, every citizen is angry that if the Modi government can put an elected Chief Minister in jail without any evidence, then what will it do with a common person?
AAP’s Delhi State Convenor said that those who are asking why the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress are fighting elections together this time, then you have to understand that this time the election is not an ordinary election. This time’s election is the fight to save the constitution and democracy of this country. If you miss voting on 25th, you will have to remain silent for the next 5 years. You will not get the right to vote. India did not get the Constitution and democracy by begging. Millions of martyrs have made sacrifices for this. If you love this country, then press the button on 25th May, not to elect MPs, but to save the country. It does not matter which caste, religion, and party you belong to in this election. Because if the country survives, then the parties will survive, and if the parties survive, then there will be elections, and if there are elections, then the voters of this country continue holding the utmost importance. The BJP wants to take this country towards dictatorship, he concluded.
