In response to the call given by AAP National Convenor and Delhi’s Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) observed “Samvidhan Bachao, Tanashahi Hatao” (Save Democracy, Remove Dictatorship) Diwas on the occasion of Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary. AAP leaders and supporters convened to pledge their unwavering commitment to safeguard the Constitution across the country, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
During a significant gathering at the AAP headquarters in Delhi, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh sounded an alarm, highlighting BJP MPs’ open discussions on altering the Constitution. He warned that the BJP’s demand for over 400 seats is indicative of their intent to abolish reservations for Dalits, tribals, and backward classes, should they come to power. The clarion call was made for the people of Delhi to forfeit BJP’s security deposits on all seven seats, emphasizing the imperative to uphold democratic values and protect constitutional rights. During this time, AAP Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai, Atishi, Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Rakhi Birla, Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi, Jasmine Shah, and other senior leaders, MLAs, councillors, and activists were present.
On this occasion, AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri MP Sanjay Singh said that today we have taken an oath to save the Constitution written by Baba Saheb Ambedkar. This oath should not be just a sentence for the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, it should be a commitment for the AAP workers to fight until their last breath to save the Constitution made by Baba Saheb. The BJP MP from Ayodhya said that Narendra Modi’s work is not working on 272 seats. If the Constitution is to be changed, then a two-thirds majority is required. Therefore, give the BJP 400 seats, so that we can change the Constitution. This is how dangerous it is. A BJP MP is openly saying that Baba Saheb’s written Constitution needs to be changed. I want to say to BJP and RSS that as long as there is a worker of the Aam Aadmi Party, he will fight until his last breath to save the Constitution of India. We have taken this oath.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP said there is no equality in education. Due to the discrimination of society, the caste system deprived those who did not get their rights based on the caste system order, were deprived of entry into temples, drinking water in ponds, discrimination in the name of admission to schools. Baba Saheb Ambedkar said that everyone should have equal access to education. Only the government of the Aam Aadmi Party in the entire country has fulfilled this dream of Baba Saheb. We have provided equal education opportunities to everyone. Shri Manish Sisodia worked day and night to bring the equal education system to the ground. In 2015, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal used to go to government schools with Shri Manish Sisodia. Government schools used to have cobwebs, children used to study sitting on the ground, there were no toilets for girls. There were no labs, but Kejriwal made air-conditioned classrooms in government schools and fulfilled Baba Saheb’s dream. Baba Saheb’s dream was that every person should have faith in the Constitution of India. Every person should know what rights are given to them in the Constitution.
The Senior AAP Leader further added that in 75 years, many governments have come and gone. The Kejriwal government in Delhi is India’s first government, and Shri Manish Sisodia is the first Education Minister who said that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution will be taught in government schools. Birth, education, health, and job opportunities should not be discriminated against, the strength of which the Constitution provides. If the BJP changes the Constitution, they will abolish reservations. Dr. Ambedkar said that due to social structure, prejudice, and discrimination, the larger sections of society have been kept away from jobs.
“The Constitution of India has provided reservation for the marginalized and oppressed sections of society, including Dalits, Tribals, and the underprivileged. If the BJP returns to power in 2024, reservations for Dalits, Tribals, and the underprivileged will be abolished nationwide. That’s why we will fight against the BJP to save the Constitution and our rights and bid them farewell in 2024,” he added.
Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned that Shri Hemant Soren, who became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand from the Adivasi community, struggled throughout his life to create the state of Jharkhand. Shri Hemant Soren fought for the rights of Adivasis. Modi ji put Adivasi leader Hemant Soren in jail without any evidence. Modi ji insulted the Adivasi community. In this election, Modi ji has to answer for it. Delhiites have consistently given overwhelming majority to CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal three times. BJP did not see its mistake in Delhi, so they also put CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail. Shri Arvind Kejriwal made every word written in Baba Saheb’s Constitution true. He provided equal education to children, taught the Constitution in schools, provided free treatment, got everyone treated for free under the ‘Farishtey’ scheme, arranged free travel in buses for mothers and sisters, and provided free electricity and water. When Arvind Kejriwal made the dream of giving facilities to the most disadvantaged people in society a reality, BJP and Modi were scared.
“After the AAP formed the government in Punjab following Delhi, BJP’s shop was closed there too, just like in Delhi. In Punjab, BJP’s alliance with the Akali Dal was looting, but they got cleared from there. AAP got 14% votes in Gujarat and won 5 MLAs, with 6.5% votes in Goa and won two MLAs. BJP had turned the MCD into a garbage dump for 15 years, then the ‘jhadu’ came out and cleaned up all the garbage from the MCD by sweeping BJP away. The mountain of garbage is going down. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is working to fulfill Baba Saheb’s dreams on the ground, so he was put in jail. That’s why the people will answer jail with their votes,” the AAP MP affirmed.
Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned that the BJP and LG were saying that they will not let the government run from jail, and the AAP was saying that the government will run from jail, BJP will have to step back, we will not step back. Tired and defeated, LG had to say on Saturday that free facilities including electricity and water will continue. “Delhiites have the guarantee from Shri Arvind Kejriwal that we will fulfill every promise. The Kejriwal government is the first government in India to do more work than the guarantee given in the manifesto. There was no guarantee to give women a ₹1,000 in our manifesto. Even after that, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has worked to understand the economic crisis of our mothers and sisters.
He continued, “BJP wants to end these facilities for the people of Delhi. If Delhiites want to take Kejriwal out of jail, seize BJP’s bail on all seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi. By voting, tell the BJP that if you mess with the Constitution, this time in Delhi, BJP will get zero seats out of 80. If BJP tries to tamper with the reservations of Dalits, Tribals, and the underprivileged, they will not get a single seat.”
Shri Sanjay Singh shared that during the Bihar elections, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had said that there should be a review of reservations. 140 crore people are the owners of the country. These people will review it. The people of the country have reviewed that RSS and BJP people discriminate against the Dalits, backward classes, and tribals of society. The people of the country have decided that this time the bail of BJP needs to be seized across the country. “The stone laying ceremony of Lord Shri Ram’s temple was taking place, the Prime Minister, Chief Minister of UP, Governor were there, but then the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, was not invited because he is a Dalit. There is discrimination against Dalits in the minds of BJP people. After that, in January 2024, the inauguration of Lord Shri Ram’s temple took place, then too there was the Prime Minister, Chief Minister of UP, Governor, but the President of the country, Draupadi Murmu, who comes from the tribal society, was not there. There is discrimination in the minds of BJP people. We have to remove this discrimination and answer jail with votes,” Shri Sanjay Singh stated.
Taking potshots at PM Modi, MP Shri Sanjay Singh said, “In 2014, Modi Ji was telling people to vote after seeing the cylinder at home. Today, I want to tell the people of Delhi and the country that when you go to vote, go after seeing the face of your child, for whom Kejriwal has arranged good education. When going to vote, go after seeing your mother, sister, and daughter, for whom Kejriwal has provided the facility of free bus travel, go after seeing the elders, for whom Kejriwal has arranged pilgrimage trips by becoming Delhi’s Shravan Kumar. Go after seeing the electricity and water bill, for which for the first time after independence, Kejriwal’s government has brought it down to zero. When all this will be remembered by you, then your son Shri Arvind Kejriwal will be remembered by you. When your son will be remembered, then you will also remember that your son is currently in jail and to get your son Shri Arvind Kejriwal out of jail, BJP will have to be removed from Delhi. Sweeping on all seven seats of Delhi, the AAP and Congress will have to be won.
Modi government is systematically killing Baba Saheb’s Constitution and democracy: Gopal Rai
AAP’s Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai said that for the past 10 years, the BJP sitting in power at the Centre has been preparing to end Baba Saheb’s Constitution and democracy. For the past 5 years, the Modi government has been systematically killing the spirit of the Constitution and democracy. For the first time in the country, more than 150 MPs have been suspended. Modi ji does not want opposition MPs in Parliament. He wants to control Parliament. Modi ji removed India’s Chief Justice from the selection committee of the Election Commission. The Modi government has brought all the investigating agencies of the country, including the ED, CBI, and IT, under its control.
“Sarath Reddy, who gave BJP ₹60 crores, was arrested and accused in the fake liquor scam. His ₹60 crores are in BJP’s account, but the ED and CBI are not daring to investigate him. All this is in your (BJP) hands. You have the entire media of this country in your hands. If anyone speaks against you, you order them to be fired from their job over the phone. Today there is an atmosphere of terror in the entire media of the country. Modi ji wants to control the country’s Constitution, democracy, and Parliament. Wherever the BJP government is not formed, MLAs are threatened, bribed, and governments are toppled. Modi ji also wants to control the assemblies,” the AAP Delhi State Convenor said.
Accused in fake liquor scam, Sarath Reddy, gave ₹60 crores to BJP, but ED is not investigating it: Gopal Rai
Shri Gopal Rai said that the BJP needs 400 seats not for a majority government but to change the Constitution. But this country is not going to tolerate it. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message from jail that no matter how much you torture me, I will endure it. The Modi government is not allowing Shri Arvind Kejriwal to meet his wife. They order that the CM will be on one side of the glass and his wife will be on the other side. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is not just an individual but the Chief Minister elected by lakhs of Delhiites. To take country forward, we must protect Baba Saheb’s Constitution: Dr. Shelly Oberoi
Delhi’s Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi said that Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar’s efforts brought justice to the oppressed and marginalized. The people of the poor strata were given equal rights. If we want to take the country forward, we must continue on the path shown by him. It is necessary to protect the Constitution of Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar. We must fight for the rights of Dalits, oppressed, and marginalized. AAP is moving forward on the path shown by Baba Bhimrao Ambedkar in the right sense. We are working to fulfill his dreams. Under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, education and healthcare facilities have been made world-class in Delhi and Punjab. Students from backward and poor sections are receiving world-class education. They are receiving free treatment in good hospitals.
Like Baba Saheb, Kejriwal won’t stop and will continue to advance his mission: Kuldeep Kumar
AAP’s Lok Sabha candidate from East Delhi Shri Kuldeep Kumar said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution talks about equality for all, upliftment of every caste and class. He has given us all the right to vote. But today dictatorship is at its peak in the country. They boast arrogantly on every platform that this time we will bring 400+ seats and change Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution. The BJP wants to change the Constitution because this Constitution gives equal rights to women and BJP people hate women. They do not like that the Constitution talks about bringing the marginalized people of the country into the mainstream. Today we have to pledge that no matter what happens, we will not let any harm come to the Constitution. We have to give an answer to this dictatorship with our votes. This time in elections, let’s bid a true tribute to Baba Saheb by eliminating dictators from country: Rakhi Bidlan
Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Rakhi Bidlan, said that this struggle is not about winning or losing elections. It’s not about saving or forming a government. This struggle is about saving the soul of the nation, the Constitution. This struggle is about fulfilling Baba Saheb’s dreams. At this time, thousands and lakhs of voices are rising in support of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. It is our job to strengthen those voices. At this time, we have to save Mother India from these few corrupt, dictators, and dark forces, and the person who stands first in this struggle. His name is Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, in Haryana, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated as “Samvidhan Bachao, Tanashahi Hatao,” and AAP workers took an oath. During this, AAP’s state president and INDIA Alliance candidate from Kurukshetra, Dr. Sushil Gupta, senior state vice president Anurag Dhanda, and former minister and senior Congress leader Ashok Arora were present. Dr. Sushil Gupta said that Baba Saheb made a Constitution in which every caste and religion has the right to equality without any discrimination. It gave the poorest of the poor and the person standing in the last line a chance to reach the highest positions in the country. But the present BJP government wants to impose dictatorship in the country. The BJP is conspiring to eliminate the AAP. Therefore, action was taken against senior leaders of the AAP- Shri Manish Sisodia, Shri Satyender Jain, and Shri Sanjay Singh. It is the AAP that provided many basic facilities such as free pilgrimage for the elderly, free bus travel for women, free electricity, free healthcare, free education, and free water to the people of the country. The Modi government wants to fight not in the name of work but in the name of caste and religion.

In Punjab too, AAP ministers, MLAs, and workers took an oath to save the Constitution on Baba Saheb’s birthday. Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, the candidate from Hoshiarpur for AAP, said that only ‘AAP’ is advancing Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s ideology and working for the welfare of the common people. AAP’s government is providing relief from inflation by providing free healthcare and education facilities to the people. Minister Balkar Singh said that the BJP is trying to end the Constitution while adopting dictatorial behavior. Shri Arvind Kejriwal was following Baba Saheb’s footsteps. That’s why he was put in jail. Shri Arvind Kejriwal put up pictures of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in government offices. Cabinet Minister Lalchand Kataruchak paid tribute to Baba Saheb on his birthday at the DC office Pathankot. Only the AAP’s government is working to uplift the lives of every section of society.
BJP wants to end Constitution, we have to save it: Naveen Paliwal
At the call of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP also celebrated Baba Saheb’s birthday as ‘Samvidhan Bachao, Tanashahi Hatao’ day in all district headquarters in Rajasthan. AAP Rajasthan State President Naveen Paliwal said that just as the BJP and Narendra Modi’s government put a selected chief minister in jail under dictatorship, they are strangling the Constitution and want to end it. We have the opportunity to save our Constitution, and we have the power of votes. We all have to save our country together and protect the Constitution and free the country from dictatorship.
