AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh accused PM Narendra Modi and the BJP of political malice on Friday. In light of the extension to Shri Manish Sisodia’s ED remand by five days, Shri Sanjay Singh said that BJP is defaming the Delhi Government, derailing its education model, and punishing its people for electing AAP. He deemed the case against Shri Manish Sisodia baseless and called the remand sought by the ED today “a desperate and futile exercise to comply with the orders of its political masters.”

Stating that Shri Manish Sisodia was being treated worse than a terrorist, the MP highlighted his achievements, like transforming government schools and providing quality education, and warned that the nation would not forget the injustice done to him.

Shri Sanjay Singh shared that ED had today requested a remand extension for seven days, but a 5-day extension has been granted by the court. He added that the whole country is watching the BJP’s crimes, dictatorship, hooliganism, and misuse of investigative agencies. “Even terrorists are not treated the way Shri Manish Sisodia is being treated,” and he emphasised, “This is when nothing has come out of the investigations!” There is not a whisper from the agency regarding the proceeds of the crime, which is fundamental to the case. He questioned: “If there was corruption, then at least some gold, property, or money would have come out. Where did it all go?”

Retracing the story of Shri Manish Sisodia’s harassment, Shri Sanjay Singh said the BJP first claimed that Sisodia indulged in corruption. He pointed out that the CBI which was following BJP’s commands found nothing despite a 14-hour raid at Shri Manish Sisodia’s house and multiple raids on his village, office and bank lockers. Further, even after recording the statements of the witnesses, the name of Shri Manish Sisodia was not mentioned in the first and second charge sheets filed by the CBI. But at the behest of its master, the CBI forcibly arrested Shri Manish Sisodia. But, the CBI did not find anything even after questioning him for five days and then for another two days.

Shri Sanjay Singh accused the ED of waking up from its sleep a day before Shri Manish Sisodia’s bail plea was to be heard in the CBI case to take him in remand. He questioned how the swiftest agency, ED, was innocently unaware of the whole thing for 10 months. He accused the ED of working at the behest of its political masters and treating Shri Sisodia like a terrorist. “The ED was granted his remand for seven days, but they came in again today stating more remand should be granted because apparently, more inquiry has to be done,” he said.

Addressing PM Narendra Modi, Shri Sanjay Singh said that the whole country is witnessing this injustice. He accused the Prime Minister of using his position to oppress, persecute and treat people like Shri Sisodia like terrorists. He warned that the people of the country will answer him when the time comes.

Shri Sanjay Singh said that Shri Manish Sisodia is the man who dedicated everything and worked hard day and night to provide quality education to lakhs of children in Delhi. He transformed government schools that used to be covered in cobwebs due to neglect into air-conditioned facilities and subsequently achieved six consecutive years of better Class 12th exam results in government schools than private schools, with many students being admitted into IITs. Shri Sanjay Singh highlighted that the man who introduced and popularised an education model all over the world is being treated worse than a terrorist by PM Narendra Modi and his agencies.

The AAP leader concluded that the nation will not forget the injustice done to Shri Manish Sisodia. He warned the BJP that the people of Delhi would not be cowed down by their tactics and propaganda and will continue to support the AAP government.
