The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has expressed its disagreement with the High Court’s decision to stay the bail granted to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal by a trial court. AAP’s Chief Spokesperson (National) Priyanka Kakkar pointed out that the High Court ordered the stay without thoroughly reviewing the trial court’s order.
AAP Chief Spokesperson (National) Priyanka Kakkar pointed out that the trial court found no evidence linking CM Arvind Kejriwal to the alleged liquor scam, noting that not a single penny has been recovered in the two-year investigation. She highlighted that the trial court addressed all relevant documents, excluding only some irrelevant ones. Priyanka Kakkar emphasized that the High Court ordered a stay without reviewing the trial court’s order and mentioned that their legal team is considering the next steps in response to this decision.
In a media interaction, AAP Chief Spokesperson (National) Priyanka Kakkar said, “This entire alleged liquor scam is fabricated and scripted in the BJP office. When you read the trial court order, it addresses all the relevant documents, leaving out what the court deemed as irrelevant documents after scrutiny.
The Chief AAP Spokesperson further added that the trial court has clearly stated that there is no evidence linking Arvind Kejriwal to the so-called liquor scam. Not a single penny has been recovered in the two years of investigation, and this has also been clearly mentioned in the trial court’s order.
“The High Court ordered stay without even looking at the trial court order. We do not agree with this decision; we will act as per the legal advise received,” she concluded.
