The Delhi government led by Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has given a huge relief to the consumers who missed the electricity subsidy application window. Taking cognisance of the demand of Delhiites, the Delhi Government has extended the electricity subsidy application window till 15th November. The applicants who opt-in for the subsidy by 15th November can avail the benefit from 1st October onwards itself. Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia approved the proposal to extend the application window till 15th November today on the instructions of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The application window had closed on October 31; seeing requests of the people who missed the window, the Delhi Government decided to extend the time period. There are 58 lakh electricity consumers in Delhi, out of which 47 lakh consumers received subsidy; 35 lakh consumers have opted-in so far.
Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “The last date for registration for the free electricity scheme in Delhi has now been extended till November 15; Delhiites who register till November 15 will continue to get the benefit of free electricity scheme.”
It is noteworthy that the Delhi Government provides 200 units of electricity absolutely free to all the residents in Delhi, while from 201 to 400 units, half the rate is charged. There are about 58 lakh domestic consumers in Delhi. Out of this 47 lakh electricity consumers get subsidy. At the same time, out of these 47 lakh consumers, there are about 30 lakh consumers whose electricity bills come to zero, while the electricity bills of 16 to 17 lakh consumers come as per half rates.
Many people in Delhi were demanding that subsidies on electricity should be given only to those who are unable to pay the bills. They said that many people are capable of paying bills and they should be allowed to pay them. In view of this, the Delhi Government had decided that from October 1, only those consumers will get subsidy on electricity, who will apply and opt in for it. Applications for the subsidy on electricity were being taken from 15 September 2022. The Delhi Government had sent a form along with the bill to all the consumers to apply. Apart from this, a number 70113111111 has been issued, on which one can also get the form by giving a missed call or sending a message on WhatsApp. The applicants are being informed by SMS and email that they have been registered and their subsidy will continue. The last date to apply for this was 31 October.
About 35 lakh consumers had applied for the subsidy in the given time period by the Delhi Government. Whereas the total number of people getting subsidy on electricity was about 47 lakhs. There are many consumers who have missed the window of applying due to lack of awareness, while some have not been able to apply due to technical reasons. After the end of the application period, there was a demand from these consumers to give some more time, so that they too can apply. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal took cognisance of the demand and noted that consumers who want to take subsidy should not be deprived of applying due to lack of information. An awareness program is also being run on the instructions of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Thus it was decided to extend the application period till November 15. On the instructions of the CM, Deputy Chief Minister and Power Minister Shri Manish Sisodia approved this proposal today. After this decision the deprived consumers will be able to fill the form till November 15 and they will also get the benefit of subsidy on electricity from October 1, 2022.
*Those applying after November 15 will have to pay the bill for the month of October*
Those who apply for the subsidy after November 15, will have to pay the bill for the month of October and they will get a subsidy on electricity from the month of November. Similarly, those who apply in December will have to pay electricity bills for the months of October and November and they will get a subsidy from December. All in all, after November 15, the month in which the electricity consumers will apply for subsidy, they will get the subsidy from that month itself and they will have to pay the bill for the previous month before filling the form.

Fill the form and submit it where you pay the electricity bill.
Method Two –
The Delhi Government has issued the number 70113111111 for applying.
– You can apply by giving a missed call or by sending Hi on WhatsApp.
– Soon after this an SMS will be sent, containing a link.
– Upon clicking that link a form will open
– You fill that form and submit it and you will be included in the list of subsidy holders.
The Delhi government will also send messages to those consumers whose mobile number is linked with their electricity bill.
– Three days after the application, you will be informed by SMS or e-mail that your subsidy is in progress.

मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के नेतृत्व में दिल्ली सरकार ने बिजली पर सब्सिडी लेने के लिए अभी तक आवेदन करने में असफल रहे उपभोक्ताओं को आज बड़ी राहत दी है। दिल्लीवालों की मांग पर दिल्ली सरकार ने बिजली पर सब्सिडी लेने के लिए आवेदन करने की तिथि 15 नवंबर तक बढ़ा दी है। अब 15 नवंबर तक आवेदन करने वाले उपभोक्ताओं को भी एक अक्टूबर से बिजली पर सब्सिडी मिलेगी। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल के निर्देश पर आज उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने 15 नवंबर तक आवेदन करने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है। इससे पहले, 31 अक्टूबर को सब्सिडी के लिए आवेदन करने की अवधि समाप्त हो गई थी। आवेदन करने से वंचित लोगों की मांग पर दिल्ली सरकार ने यह मोहलत दी है। वहीं, दिल्ली में करीब 58 लाख बिजली उपभोक्ता हैं। इनमें से करीब 47 लाख उपभोक्ताओं को बिजली पर सब्सिडी मिलती है। इसमें से अब तक 35 लाख उपभोक्ता सब्सिडी लेने के लिए आवेदन कर चुके हैं।
सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने ट्वीट कर कहा, ‘‘दिल्ली में मुफ़्त बिजली योजना के लिए रजिस्ट्रेशन की अंतिम तारीख़ अब 15 नवंबर तक बढ़ा दी गई है, जो दिल्लीवासी 15 नवंबर तक रजिस्ट्रेशन करेंगे, उन्हें मुफ़्त बिजली योजना का फ़ायदा मिलता रहेगा। अभी तक 35 लाख परिवार इसके लिए रजिस्ट्रेशन कर चुके हैं।’’
उल्लेखनीय है कि दिल्ली सरकार दिल्ली में सभी निवासियों को 200 यूनिट बिजली बिल्कुल फ्री देती है, जबकि 201 से 400 यूनिट तक आधा रेट लिया जाता है। दिल्ली में करीब 58 लाख घरेलु उपभोक्ता हैं। इसमें से 47 लाख बिजली उपभोक्ताओं को सब्सिडी मिलती है। वहीं, इन 47 लाख उपभोक्ताओं में से 30 लाख ऐसे उपभोक्ता हैं, जिनके बिजली के बिल जीरो आते हैं, जबकि 16 से 17 लाख उपभोक्ताओं के बिजली के बिल आधे आते हैं।
दिल्ली में काफी लोग मांग कर रहे थे कि बिजली पर सब्सिडी उनको ही दी जाए, जो बिल देने में असमर्थ हैं। काफी लोग बिल देने में समर्थ हैं और उनसे बिल लिए जाएं। इसी के मद्देनजर दिल्ली सरकार ने तय किया कि एक अक्टूबर से उन्हीं उपभोक्ताओं को बिजली पर सब्सिडी मिलेगी, जो आवेदन कर इसकी मांग करेंगे। 15 सितंबर 2022 से बिजली पर सब्सिडी के लिए आवेदन लिया जा रहा था। दिल्ली सरकार ने आवेदन करने के लिए सभी उपभोक्ताओं के पास बिल के साथ एक फार्म भेजा था। इसके अलावा, 7011311111 नंबर जारी किया गया है, जिस पर मिस्ड कॉल कर या वाट्सएप पर Hi भेजकर भी फार्म प्राप्त कर सकते हैं और उस फार्म को भर कर सब्सिडी की मांग कर सकते हैं। आवेदन करने वालों को एसएमएस व ई-मेल भेजकर इसकी सूचना दी जा रही है कि आप पंजीकृत हो गए हैं और आपकी सब्सिडी जारी रहेगी। इसके लिए आवेदन करने की अंतिम तिथि 31 अक्टूबर थी।
दिल्ली सरकार द्वारा दी गई समयावधि में करीब 35 उपभोक्ताओं ने बिजली पर सब्सिडी के लिए आवेदन किया है। जबकि बिजली पर सब्सिडी लेने वालों की कुल संख्या करीब 47 लाख है। काफी उपभोक्ता ऐसे हैं, जो जागरूकता के अभाव में आवेदन करने से वंचित रह गए हैं, जबकि कुछ तकनीकि कारणों से आवेदन नहीं कर पाए हैं। आवेदन करने की अवधि समाप्त होने पर इन उपभोक्ताओं की तरफ से थोड़ा और समय देने की मांग की जा रही थी, ताकि वे भी आवेदन कर सकें। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल भी चाहते हैं कि जानकारी के अभाव में सब्सिडी लेने की इच्छा रखने वाले उपभोक्ता आवेदन करने से वंचित नहीं रहने चाहिए। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल के निर्देश पर जागरूकता कार्यक्रम भी चलाया जा रहा है। उपभोक्ताओं की तरफ से की जा रही भारी मांग पर सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने आवेदन करने की अवधि 15 नवंबर तक के लिए बढ़ाने का निर्णय लिया है। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल के निर्देश पर उपमुख्यमंत्री एवं बिजली मंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने इसके प्रस्ताव को आज मंजूरी दे दी। दिल्ली सरकार के इस फैसले के बाद अब आवेदन करने से वंचित उपभोक्ता 15 नवंबर तक फार्म भर सकेंगे और उनको भी एक अक्टूबर 2022 से बिजली पर सब्सिडी का लाभ मिलेगा।
*15 नवंबर के बाद आवेदन करने वालों को अक्टूबर महीने का देना होगा बिल*
वहीं, 15 नवंबर के बाद जो लोग आवेदन करेंगे, उनको फिर अक्टूबर महीने का बिल भरना पड़ेगा और उनको नवंबर महीने से बिजली पर सब्सिडी मिलेगी। इसी तरह दिसंबर में जो लोग आवेदन करेंगे, उनको अक्टूबर और नवंबर महीने का बिजली का बिल भरना पड़ेगा और दिसंबर से उनको सब्सिडी मिलेगी। 15 नवंबर के बाद बिजली उपभाक्ता जिस महीने में सब्सिडी के लिए आवेदन करेंगे, उनको उस महीने से सब्सिडी मिलेगी और उनको फार्म भरने से पहले के महीने का बिल देना होगा।
बिजली सब्सिडी के लिए इस तरह करें आवेदन
– दिल्ली सरकार ने 7011311111 नंबर जारी किया है।
– आप इस नंबर मिस्ड कॉल या फिर Hi लिखकर भेजें।
– इसके तुरंत बाद एक एसएमएस आएगा, जिसमें एक लिंक होगा।
– उस लिंक पर क्लिक करने पर आपके वाट्सएप पर एक फार्म खुल जाएगा
– आप उस फार्म को भरकर भेज दें और आप सब्सिडी लेने की लिस्ट में शामिल हो जाएंगे।
– जिनके मोबाइल नंबर बिजली के बिल के साथ पंजीकृत है, उनको दिल्ली सरकार भी मैसेज भेजेगी।
– आवेदन के तीन दिन बाद एसएमएस या ई-मेल से सूचना दी जाएगी कि आपकी सब्सिडी जारी है।
