In a significant development, the Sarpanches and Pradhans (local village heads) of several villages in Jhajjar district, Haryana, met Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot and requested him to extend the services of Delhi’s state-of-the-art e-buses to the Jhajjar bus stand in Haryana. During the meeting, the village heads expressed their desire for the residents of Jhajjar district to benefit from the eco-friendly and efficient e-bus services pioneered by the Delhi Government

After the meeting, Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot twitted “Today, Sarpanches and heads of different villages of Jhajjar district of Haryana visited my office and requested that the services of Delhi’s state-of-the-art e-buses should be extended to Jhajjar Bus Stand in Haryana so that the people of Haryana can also benefit from Delhi’s EV revolution. I have assured them that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi government will consider their demands .”

The representation led by Anurag Dhanda, Senior Vice President, Aam Admi Party-Haryana included Sarpanches and Pradhans including Sunil Gulia-khap pradhan 84, Pawan-Sarpanch of Dariyapur, Sukhdev-Sarpanch of Jahangirpur, Ramvir-Sarpanch of Kheri, Dharamvir- Sarpanch of Majri.

Earlier this year in January, the Delhi government had extended the Delhi Transport Corporation’s (DTC) bus services between Najafgadh Terminal in Delhi to Aiims-Jhajjar (Badsa village) in Haryana. The services have proven beneficial to thousands of commuters, including patients and AIIMS staff, traveling daily between Delhi and Haryana. The buses currently ply between Najafgarh Terminal and AIIMS Jhajjar via the Daurala Border.
