The Kejriwal Government has provided a Samman Rashi of Rs 1 crore to the family of COVID warrior late Rita Vohra. Cabinet Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand, met with the family members of the courageous COVID warrior who tragically lost her life while serving the public during the coronavirus pandemic. Shri Anand said that Rita Vohra, who worked as a lab assistant at G.B. Pant Hospital in Delhi, dedicated herself to serving people during the COVID-19 outbreak but unfortunately succumbed to the virus. He expressed his hope that although the compensation amount may not compensate for the loss suffered by the families, it would provide some assistance in shaping their future and supporting their livelihood. The Delhi Government, under the leadership of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, has been providing Samman Rashi of one crore rupees to the families of several Delhi COVID warriors who lost their lives while selflessly serving others during the pandemic.

Shri Raaj Kumar Anand visited the residence of the late COVID warrior Rita Vohra on Monday to meet her family members, including her children. During the visit, Shri Raaj Kumar Anand personally extended his condolences and assured them of his support in the future, promising assistance whenever needed. He recognised the immense bravery showcased by Rita Vohra. Throughout the pandemic, she dedicated herself to serving people with utmost dedication and devotion. Unfortunately, she fell victim to the clutches of COVID-19 and passed away on September 30, 2020.

Shri Raaj Kumar Anand saluted the service provided by Corona warriors and said, “Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, doctors, nurses, and staff tirelessly served the public, staying away from their families and providing round-the-clock care to patients. In the process, many Corona warriors themselves contracted the virus and sacrificed their lives. I pray for peace for their souls. The Delhi government, in recognition of the more than 70 Corona warriors who lost their lives in the pandemic, has provided each of their families with an amount of one crore rupees as a token of its respect for their service. The Kejriwal government is always with them in their time of need. We express our gratitude to all our Corona warriors who selflessly served the people without caring for their own lives.”
