The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) youth and student wing staged a massive protest outside the residence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, decrying rigging in the NEET exam on Wednesday. The Delhi Police intervened, preventing the demonstrators from meeting the Union Education Minister and resorting to lathi-charge when the protesters resisted.

Led by AAP MLA Shri Sanjeev Jha, the demonstrators demanded the minister’s resignation on moral grounds and called for a re-examination to ensure equal opportunity for all students. Emphasizing the gravity of the issue, Shri Sanjeev Jha asserted that the government is jeopardizing the future of the nation’s youth and pledged that AAP would continue its fight for justice from the streets to the Parliament. The NEET exam rigging has impacted thousands of students, prompting calls for the exam’s cancellation and a thorough investigation by a committee headed by a retired judge.

As per the pre-announced program, AAP’s student wing and youth wing reached outside the residence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday morning to protest against the rigging of the NEET exam. They had banners and posters with slogans related to the NEET scam in their hands. During this, the police forcibly stopped the students on the way and lathi-charged the students who were going to meet the Union Education Minister. The police also took many students into custody and took them to the police station. During this, the students gathered on the road and raised slogans against the Union Education Minister and demanded that the NEET exam be conducted again. Many doctors were also involved in this protest against such a big scam in the NEET exam. During this, the students raised slogans of ‘Shame on the Education Minister’, and ‘Stop Commercialization of Education’.

The students involved in the protest say that earlier there were scams but now the papers of the students are leaked. Their people get the papers with the help of money and they pass the paper. But a poor child will not be able to pass the paper even after working hard. Based on morality, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign immediately. The Modi government should accept its mistake and apologize to the country and this matter should be investigated. This exam should be canceled and the paper should be held again. So that everyone gets equal opportunity and the capable children of the country can move forward. The police have taken many of our colleagues to the police station. The Prime Minister is trying to scare and intimidate us by putting his police forward.

Senior AAP leader and MLA Shri Sanjeev Jha, who was leading the protest, said that the issue of rigging in the NEET exam has been raised not only by parents and children but also by all the leaders of the AAP. On Tuesday also, the AAP protested on this issue and has been holding press conferences continuously. Today, through this state protest, we wanted to meet Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and tell him that if there has been rigging in the NEET exam and there is evidence of this, then why is the exam not being canceled after investigating it? What was the fault of the children for whom this was the last attempt in the NEET exam that they became victims of this paper leak?

“We want a committee to be formed under the supervision of a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate the NEET exam scam so that the children who have given the exam can be assured that if they prepare on the merit list, their selection will be certain. We wanted to tell all these issues to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today. But we were stopped by the police force. After all, what is Dharmendra Pradhan scared of, all the parents, children and the people of the country want to know that,” MLA Shri Sanjeev Jha concluded.
