In a comprehensive review meeting chaired by the Minister for Welfare of SC/ST, the Department of Revenue, GNCTD; and the Department for the Welfare of SC/ST, GNCTD, key directives were issued to enhance the efficiency of caste certificate issuance within a stipulated time frame of 15 days.
It was told by the revenue department that due to an error while filling out the application form and uploading the documents by the applicant, the form gets rejected on verification if there is a mismatch of any of the details given by the applicant.
To overcome the issue, the Hon’ble Minister asked the Revenue Department to collaborate with NIC, to check the possibility of editing the bar so that relevant changes can be made, if need be. This would resolve issues promptly to streamline the application process within the stipulated time frame.
To check the genuineness of the rejected applications, Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand directed the Revenue Department to compile district-wise data for the past six months. This initiative aims to understand patterns and implement targeted improvements for timely caste certificate issuance.
Recognizing the need for expeditious processes, the Minister emphasized a reduction in the time period for field verification. Officers, not below the rank of Naib Tehsildar, will conduct verifications within a stipulated 10-day period. This measure aims to eliminate unnecessary delays in issuing caste certificates. The Minister also directed the DMs to take Review Meeting twice a month to check the pendency of all such certificates.
“These directives underscore the government’s commitment to ensure a smooth and timely processing of applications, particularly of those belonging to the SC category. The Kejriwal government fosters inclusivity, steadfastly enhances processes, and diligently fulfills its duty to serve the public,” said Shri Raaj Kumar Anand.
