Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Malviya Nagar Assembly Constituency Shri Somnath Bharti started a special program “Direct Dialogue” from Malviya Nagar Assembly on Sunday. Councillor of Hauz Khas Ward No. 148, RWAs of the ward and local people participated in this campaign. In this program, public representatives and the public together discussed and expressed opinions on the problems of the area. In this programme, a public opinion poll was also held regarding the Central Government’s ordinance which violates the rights of the Delhi government. A common minimum program for the works of the Delhi Government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi was prepared after discussion and opinion polling of the public. MLA and councillor together will develop the area on the basis of this common minimum programme. After the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party’s government in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, this kind of experiment is being done for the first time in the capital Delhi. The purpose of this program is to provide better facilities to the public by establishing better coordination between Delhi government and MCD.
For the first time in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar assembly constituency, the MLA and the councillor together interacted directly with the public. Malviya Nagar MLA and Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Shri Somnath Bharti along with local councillor Kamal Bhardwaj from Hauz Khas, Ward No. 148 of Malviya Nagar inaugurated the special program “Direct Dialogue”. This program was organised in the auditorium of Hauz Khas Sai Baba Temple. In the program, the local MLA and councillor had direct dialogue and opinion polling with the local people regarding the problems of the area. More than 60 RWAs of Ward No. 148 also participated in the programme. RWAs, Market Welfare Association and local residents of Ward 148’s Niti Bagh, Hauz Khas, Uday Park, Masjid Moth, Police Colony, IIT, Gautam Nagar, Yusuf Sarai, Mayfair Garden, Gulmohar Enclave, Kaushalya Apartment, Adhchini and Gulmohar Park etc. Happened. In the “Direct Dialogue” programme, MLA Shri Somnath Bharti and Councilor Shri Kamal Bhardwaj interacted directly with the people and came to know their problems. Officials of MCD and Delhi Jal Board also participated in this program, who also tried to provide on-the-spot solutions to the problems of the public.
In the “Direct Dialogue” programme, after knowing the problems of the area by having direct dialogue with the people, an opinion poll was held with the people regarding their solution and the priorities of the area were decided. In the program, the MLA-Councilor together discussed with the people the issues related to the Delhi government and the MCD. Many issues like water, sewer, encroachment, parking, street light, road, park, rain water harvesting, storm water drain were discussed while interacting directly with the people. After this discussion, the priorities of the areas related to the ward were decided by conducting an opinion poll among the people. Giving information about this special programme, MLA Shri Somnath Bharti said that this is the first time such an initiative is being taken in Delhi after the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The objective of this program is to ensure direct participation of the people in the development of the area by establishing better coordination between the Government of Delhi and the MCD. He said that under the “Direct Dialogue” programme, local people and RWA would be able to get information about the problems of the area and then the area would be developed on the basis of priorities after taking opinion polls from the people. He said that such programs would also be organised in Ward No. 149 and Ward No. 150 of Malviya Nagar. He said that the WhatsApp Mohalla program is also being run in Malviya Nagar assembly constituency for the last 9 years. Under this program, dialogue is established by forming 83 WhatsApp groups and connecting one person from every house in every locality of Malviya Nagar assembly. Through these mohalla groups, people’s complaints reach the MLA’s office and then people’s complaints are resolved even while sitting at home. After the mandate given by the public to the Aam Aadmi Party in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, now MCD councillors will also be able to participate in this campaign. For this purpose the “Direct Dialogue” program has been started. Through this program, a common minimum program was also prepared by direct communication and opinion polling with the people. Under this common minimum program many deep rooted issues were touched like increasing parking facilities in the ward, dealing with problems of encroachment, improving water and sewer facilities, timely repair of roads, beautification of parks, eliminating dark spots, promoting water harvesting etc.
