Amidst the fervent call to answer the incarceration of AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM, Shri Arvind Kejriwal, with votes, his wife, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal, spearheaded her first roadshow in Delhi. The streets of Kalyanpuri bore witness to an overwhelming turnout as Smt. Sunita Kejriwal rallied support for East Delhi Lok Sabha candidate Shri Kuldeep Kumar. In a display of unwavering enthusiasm, party workers and supporters brandished the AAP flag, adorned with cutouts of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and placards bearing the resolute message, ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote se’ (Answer Jail with Votes). Their resounding presence sent a clear message to the BJP: the people’s adoration for Shri Arvind Kejriwal has only intensified, and they are prepared to answer with their votes.
During the roadshow, five crucial points were raised: ‘Save the Constitution’, ‘Pink Ticket for Women’, Pilgrimage, ‘Education Revolution’, and ‘Unauthorized Colony’. The attendees not only welcomed Smt. Sunita Kejriwal with open arms but also expressed heartfelt gratitude for the services provided by the Kejriwal government. Amidst this, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal emotionally addressed the people of Delhi, lamenting the unjust incarceration of Shri Arvind Kejriwal without substantial evidence. Today, as a devoted daughter of Mother India, she fervently appeals to the citizens: let us dismantle dictatorship with the power of our votes and safeguard our precious democracy.
During a huge roadshow in Kalyanpuri, Smt. Sunita Kejriwal said that these people have forcibly kept Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail for a month. So far no court has held Shri Arvind Kejriwal guilty. These people (BJP) are saying that the investigation is going on. If this investigation goes on for 10 years, then these people will keep Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail for 10 years. Earlier, someone used to go to jail only when the court held him guilty. Now they have come up with a new system. They say that till the investigation goes on, one will have to stay in jail. This is sheer hooliganism, dictatorship on their part.
“Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been suffering from diabetes for the last 22 years and has been taking 50 units of insulin daily for 12 years. They (BJP administration) stopped Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s insulin in the jail. His sugar level reached above 300. At this rate, Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s kidneys and liver will get damaged. Do these people want to kill him?” She questioned.
Smt. Sunita Kejriwal said, “I know that the people of Delhi love Shri Arvind Kejriwal a lot. It bothers these people (BJP) that why do Delhiites love Shri Arvind Kejriwal so much? What is the fault of Shri Arvind Kejriwal? Is it his fault that he made electricity free in Delhi? Earlier there used to be long power cuts everyday. Now there are no power cuts in Delhi and there is electricity 24 hours a day. Shri Arvind Kejriwal built great schools for the children of Delhiites. He built Mohalla Clinics and hospitals for you, made travel free for women and now he will also give a ₹1,000 to women every month. That is why they arrested Shri Arvind Kejriwal.”
Smt. Sunita Kejriwal told the people of Delhi that your Chief Minister is a ‘sher’ (lion), nobody can bend or break him. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is a true son of Mother India. Today this daughter of Mother India requests you to save this country. Save Mother India. This country is moving towards dictatorship. Save Mother India from dictatorship. You people must understand the power of your vote and on 25th May everyone must go to vote. By using your vote correctly, we will save our democracy from these people and remove dictatorship. We will all fight together and win. This time we will answer jail with our votes.
At the same time, AAP and INDIA alliance candidate from East Delhi Lok Sabha seat Shri Kuldeep Kumar said that the Dalit community is extremely distressed at the BJP over CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has elevated the dignity of Dalit community by granting a ticket to a Dalit’s son from a general seat. The public will take revenge for the injustice being done to Shri Arvind Kejriwal by voting. People of entire Delhi are standing with their son Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Shri Arvind Kejriwal has built excellent schools for lakhs of children of Delhi, hospitals and Mohalla Clinics for the people. Women have been given the facility of free bus travel. Electricity and water bills of Delhiites have been reduced to zero. The chief minister announced to give ₹1,000 every month to women. But BJP implicated him in a false case and put him in jail.
These five points were made during the roadshow
Save the Constitution
The first point during the roadshow was ‘Samvidhan Bachao’ (Save the Constitution). Here a large number of supporters were standing with posters and banners appealing to save the Constitution and were making people aware of how the BJP is trying to destroy the country’s democracy and constitution and is snatching away the constitutional rights of the people of Delhi. The Supreme Court had given the Services Department to the Delhi government to serve the people of Delhi, but the BJP’s central government snatched it back by making a law.
Pink tickets in buses for women
The second point of the road show was Pink Ticket. The Kejriwal government had made travel free for women in government buses. Whenever women travel in a bus, they are given a pink ticket and no fare is taken in return. Every woman of Delhi benefits from this every day. A large number of women standing at the point were standing to welcome Smt. Sunita Kejriwal. The women said that getting the facility of free travel has given them a big relief financially.
Free Pilgrimage for the elderly
The third point in the road show was pilgrimage for the elderly. At this point, a large number of elderly people who had benefited from the pilgrimage scheme run by the Kejriwal government welcomed Smt. Sunita Kejriwal. The people said that Shri Arvind Kejriwal became Shravan Kumar and got them on a pilgrimage for free. If CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal had not become Shravan Kumar, they would never have been able to go on a pilgrimage so well in their lives.
Education Revolution
The fourth point was the ‘education revolution’. Here a large number of school children were standing with pamphlets of ‘Miss you Kejriwal Uncle’. Parents were also with them. They said that the condition of government schools was very pathetic. There was a dilapidated building and lack of basic facilities. But Shri Arvind Kejriwal built a wonderful air-conditioned school building for them and provided state-of-the-art facilities. Today, very good education is imparted in government schools. This is the reason why we are performing well even in difficult competitive examinations like JEE.
Unauthorized Colony
The last point was an unauthorized colony. People living in ‘jhuggis’ standing in queues welcomed Smt. Sunita Kejriwal. The Kejriwal government has provided all the basic facilities including roads, drains, CC roads, water and sewer pipelines in the unauthorized colonies of Delhi. For this, people thanked CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal.
People gathered on balconies and terraces of houses to welcome Sunita Kejriwal
Since Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been incarcerated, his wife Smt. Sunita Kejriwal came out on the road for the first time to do a roadshow for the election campaign. Smt. Sunita Kejriwal, standing through the sunroof of a vehicle, was moving forward with folded hands and appealing to the people to ‘answer the jail with their votes’. Tears welled up in her eyes as the crowd lining both sides of the road waved her back, their cheers echoing in her ears as her vehicle moved through the throngs of people. AAP and INDIA Alliance candidate Shri Kuldeep Kumar was also riding in the car with her. While the entire road was packed with people in support of Smt. Sunita Kejriwal, the roofs and balconies of the house were also not empty. A large number of people were seen welcoming Smt. Sunita Kejriwal by waving their hands on the balcony and roofs. During this, people were also showering flowers.
Supporters arrived with Arvind Kejriwal’s cutout
During Smr. Sunita Kejriwal’s road show, Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s supporters were seen to be very crazy. People were carrying the AAP’s flag as well as Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s cutout. Apart from this, a large number of people were also carrying placards with the words ‘Jail ka jawaab vote se’. During this, people raised slogans like ‘Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad’ and ‘Jail ka jawaab vote se’.
Loudspeakers stopped the vehicle following Smt. Sunita Kejriwal’s SUV playing the song “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola” filled the air with patriotic fervor. The volunteers waved the flag of the AAP with blue and yellow bands and the party symbol ‘jhadu’ along the entire stretch where the road show was held.
People of Uttarakhand welcomed Sunita Kejriwal by doing traditional dance
The zeal in the residents as well as the traders along the road was visible as the people standing in their balconies and on their terraces too greeted Smt. Sunita Kejriwal. A group of residents in their traditional Uttarakhandi attire danced on their folk number, welcoming the AAP road show. One of them gave his traditional cap to the AAP Lok Sabha candidate Shri Kuldeep Kumar, which he wore for sometime during the roadshow.
