In a concerning turn of events, the Modi government is under scrutiny for allegedly withholding insulin from Shri Arvind Kejriwal for 28 days, raising serious concerns about his health and safety. Despite being on an insulin reversal program, Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s treatment was abruptly halted after his arrest, resulting in a worrying increase in his blood sugar level, which has now reached up to 300. Requests for insulin have been denied by the Tihar administration, and attempts to arrange a video conference with his doctor are facing opposition from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Tihar jail authorities. Atishi, among others, has raised questions about the motives behind denying Kejriwal’s insulin and has accused the BJP of putting his life at risk, hinting at a potential conspiracy. Furthermore, criticisms have been directed at the ED for spreading false rumors about Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s diet, with clarification that he can consume sweets made with a prescribed sweetener.
Through a press conference on Thursday, Senior AAP Leader and Cabinet Minister in the Kejriwal government Atishi revealed that PM Modi is hatching a very big conspiracy against CM Arvind Kejriwal. This is a conspiracy to harm Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is the popular Chief Minister whom BJP cannot defeat in Delhi elections. That is why a conspiracy is being hatched to put him in jail and harm his life.
Minister Atishi said, “Every person knows that Shri Arvind Kejriwal suffers from severe diabetes. He has been suffering from this disease for 30 years. To keep his blood sugar level under control, he takes 54 units of insulin daily. Only a person severely affected by diabetes takes this much insulin. What to eat, what exercises to do, and when to do them are all very important for controlling blood sugar levels. That’s why the court has also allowed Shri Arvind Kejriwal to have home-cooked meals prescribed by doctors.
“But today, BJP is trying to harm Arvind Kejriwal’s health through its ‘covert organization’, the ED, attempting to stop his home-cooked meals. Today the ED has repeatedly lied, spread rumors, and lied in court that Arvind Kejriwal is drinking sweet tea and eating sweets. Atishi said that this is an outright lie, as Arvind Kejriwal is allowed to have tea and sweets made with the sweetener ‘Erythritol’ prescribed by his doctors,” Ms. Atishi added.
She said, “I will tell BJP to go on the internet and look up ‘Erythritol.’ It’s a low-calorie sweetener given to diabetes patients. So the tea and sweets Arvind Kejriwal is consuming are made with this sweetener. The second lie of the ED is that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is eating bananas to increase his blood sugar level. I would like to tell the ED and BJP to consult any diabetes doctor. They always advise serious diabetes patients to keep two things handy for emergencies. They are advised to keep bananas or any kind of toffee or chocolate because blood sugar levels of serious diabetes patients can suddenly drop, posing a risk to their lives.”
“If the ED reads the court’s order, it clearly states that when Arvind Kejriwal is in ED custody or judicial custody, he must always have some kind of toffee and bananas,” the Senior AAP Leader affirmed.
Atishi said, “The third lie of the ED is that Arvind Kejriwal eats potato puris every day.” She urged the ED to fear God before telling such lies. The diet chart submitted by the ED itself in court shows that Shri Arvind Kejriwal had puris only one day, which was the first day of ‘Navratri’.
She said, “In Hinduism, on the first day of Navratri, potato puri is prepared as prasad, and everyone eats it. So, will the ED now not allow Shri Arvind Kejriwal to eat the prasad of Navratri in jail? The BJP and the ED are spreading all these lies so that they can stop Shri Arvind Kejriwal from consuming the home-cooked meals being provided to him. Because once Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s home-cooked meal is stopped, no one will know when and what he is being fed in Tihar Jail.”
“Is this a conspiracy to harm Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life? By spreading lies and rumors, his home-cooked meals are stopped, and then an attack is made on his life through the meals served in Tihar Jail,” the AAP leader said.
Atishi said, “Since March 1, Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been undergoing an insulin reversal program under a doctor’s supervision. For this, he was given a special diet, special exercises, besides being instructed to sleep at specific times, along with many other directions. That’s why his insulin was stopped. But since his arrest on March 21, Shti Arvind Kejriwal’s insulin reversal program has been halted. Due to this, his sugar level has often spiked significantly or dropped suddenly. And for the past several days, Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s blood sugar level has been consistently above 300.”
Ms. Atishi expressed, “Shri Arvind Kejriwal is repeatedly demanding insulin from the Tihar Jail authorities due to increased blood sugar levels, but the jail authorities are not providing him with insulin. The sugar level of a patient who has had diabetes for more than thirty years is consistently above 300; he is being denied insulin. What conspiracy lies behind this? Is there an attempt to take his life?”
“Today, Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s doctors filed an application requesting permission for video conferencing with his doctor, who was overseeing his insulin reversal program. At least grant permission for video conferencing with his doctor. But the ED and Tihar Jail are also opposing it. These people want to stop Shri Arvind Kejriwal from receiving home-cooked meals because by giving him jail food, they are plotting to kill him. Despite Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s repeated requests, he is not being given insulin, and his sugar level is increasing. He is not being given medication because there is a plot to kill him. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is requesting video conferencing with his doctor, but the ED is opposing it because they are attempting to harm him,” She added.
“I want to tell the ED that if they think the BJP will save them, then remember that while the BJP may save them today, the BJP cannot save them from God. For the actions the ED is taking with Shri Arvind Kejriwal, even God will not forgive them. Let the BJP and the ED know that the conspiracy they are plotting to take Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s life, God is watching along with the people of Delhi and the country. Neither the people of Delhi nor the people of the country, nor God, will forgive them for this deed,” Ms. Atishi concluded
