NEW DELHI:
The Kejriwal Government’s Ministers take over the streets of Delhi on Thursday before the MCD elections; carry out mega-Safai Abhiyan with a Jhaadu in their hands. Leading the party’s campaign and guiding the candidates, Cabinet Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand started Safai Abhiyan by sweeping the streets of the ward of BJP State President Adesh Gupta with a Jhaadu. MCD candidate from Baljit Nagar ward Ms Runakshi Sharma and MCD candidate from East Patel Nagar Dr Shelly Oberoi also cleaned the area with the volunteers. Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said, “Despite being at the helm of affairs in MCD for the last 15 years, there are piles of garbage and filth everywhere which speaks volumes about BJP’s failure. Let alone effective garbage management, they do not even pick up garbage from houses and streets.”
AAP MLA and Social Welfare Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said, “BJP has ruled the MCD for the last 15 years. They failed to perform their primary responsibility to keep Delhi clean despite being in power for so long in Delhi. It is shocking that the BJP State President was once a councilor from Patel Nagar ward. It is quite pitiable that he could not keep his own area clean. Let alone effective garbage management, they do not even pick up garbage from houses and streets. In fact, people had no choice but to pay from their own pockets in some areas so that garbage can be collected.”
He continued, “It is quite evident that he has no shame at all, so we had to pick Jhaadu in our hands. BJP failed to perform their primary responsibility to keep Delhi clean, so someone will have to take this responsibility on their shoulders. Perhaps this will foster some shame and empathy in the minds of BJP people. So today, I have started cleaning the filth along with the candidates of Baljit Nagar and East Patel Nagar wards.”
He concluded, “We are campaigning door to door for all the candidates to ensure that they win with a thumping majority in upcoming elections. This time, the Aam Aadmi Party will form the government in MCD Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal with more than 200 seats. In a healthy democracy, people should extensively talk about who is democratic and undemocratic, a good leader and a bad leader, a good and a bad worker, parties with progressive and destructive ideology.”
