Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Cabinet Minister Atishi held a Sankalp Sabha in Madanpur Khadar on Thursday under the ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ campaign. In a meeting held in support of INDIA alliance candidate Shri Kuldeep Kumar from East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, people took an oath to vote against BJP for sending CM Arvind Kejriwal to jail on May 25.
On this occasion, Atishi said that election time is a very important time. Because we vote once in five years and the decision of this vote lasts for 5 years. In such a situation, when we go to vote, we should vote wisely. She said that in the 2014 elections, people across the country voted for the BJP with great expectations. People thought that maybe their lives would improve, their children would get good education, inflation would reduce, but 10 years have passed for the BJP government, Shri Narendra Modi government and all their talk proved to be bogus. The lives of the common people remained unchanged.
Atishi said that the BJP had given the slogan ‘Bahut Hui Mehngai Ki Maar, Abki Baar Modi Sarkar’ (Enough of inflation, this time Modi government) but instead of inflation coming down in the last ten years, it has increased further. Today, it has become difficult for common people to manage their household expenses with what they earn. The price of gas cylinder increased from Rs 300 to Rs 1200, the price of diesel increased from Rs 55 to Rs 90, the price of petrol increased to Rs 100. Everything has become expensive in the last 10 years. In such a situation, this time the public will respond to the increased inflation.
BJP, which promised employment for youth, took unemployment to its peak
Atishi said that Shri Modi had promised to provide jobs to 2 crore youth every year. But unemployment has not reduced in the last 10 years rather it increased even more. Atishi said that today unemployment is at its peak. Shri Narendra Modi used to talk about India becoming a world leader. She stated that Narendra Modi has only made India a world leader in terms of inflation and unemployment. Instead of providing jobs, they took away jobs and made the youth unemployed and made them sit at home.
Atishi said that they had promised to end corruption and deposit Rs 15 lakh in people’s accounts. But that also proved to be a joke. Not a single penny came into people’s accounts; on the contrary, when Shri Arvind Kejriwal promised to give Rs 1000 every month to the women of Delhi in this year’s budget, he was put in jail.
She further stated, “On one hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not reduce inflation or unemployment in 10 years, while on the other hand, Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal gave free electricity, free water, free health facilities, Mohalla clinics, built excellent schools and hospitals, provided free world class education to children, provided free bus travel to women, fulfilled the dream of the elderly by providing them free pilgrimage tours.”
Atishi said that even after repeated conspiracies of the BJP, the work of Delhiites did not stop. Immediately after the announcement of elections, the BJP put Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail and said that he has committed corruption. Today, every child of Delhi knows that there has been significant improvement in the lives of the people of Delhi and the only person behind it is Shri Arvind Kejriwal and this is the reason why the BJP is jealous of Shri Arvind Kejriwal because he fulfills his promises, hence immediately after the announcement of elections, he was put in jail by the BJP led central government on false charges.
The senior AAP leader said that the BJP is under the illusion that Shri Arvind Kejriwal is just a man. The BJP doesn’t know that if it has put one Kejriwal in jail, thousands of Kejriwals have come out on the streets of Delhi to change the lives of Delhiites.
Atishi said that the people of Delhi will answer the BJP that they can put Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail but cannot remove him from the hearts of the people of Delhi because he lives in the hearts of the people of Delhi. On this 25th May, the public will respond to BJP’s dictatorship, atrocities and false allegations with their votes, she asserted.
