Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State Convener and Minister, Shri Gopal Rai, led 30 Mohalla Sabhas in Babarpur Assembly to protest the arrest of Shri Manish Sisodia and Shri Satyendar Jain. During these Sabhas, Shri Gopal Rai highlighted the achievements of the Aam Aadmi Party in his constituency. He also lashed out at the BJP saying that there is massive anger in locals against the arrest of Shri Manish Sisodia & Shri Satyendar Jain. He added that even the public is aware that they were arrested to impede Delhi’s progress.
Shri Gopal Rai stated, “The AAP has conducted a massive door-to-door and signature campaign opposing the detention of Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain in Delhi. Our campaign has exposed the government’s plan to halt Delhi’s education and health revolution. Instead of fighting corruption, the central authorities are retaliating, and this is why we have had to conduct a signature drive. The investigation authorities detained two Delhi ministers, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, in a fabricated case, while a BJP MLA, who was found with money, was let off the hook. The Central Investigation Agency’s double standards are being exposed by the way the trial is being conducted.”
Shri Gopal Rai further said, “Along with the Aam Aadmi Party workers, we interacted with thousands of people through approximately 30 Mohalla Sabhas to inform them about the government’s conspiracies. During these conversations, we discussed the central government’s hypocrisy. The people of Delhi have given both the BJP and the Congress a chance to serve in the government, but the state of Delhi’s schools and hospitals continued to deteriorate, the cost of energy and water continued to rise, and the people of Delhi continued to vote for both of these parties. The Aam Aadmi Party was given a chance by Delhi residents after they were dissatisfied with both of these parties. We worked hard, and Delhi residents were willing to give us a chance. We made government schools in Delhi better than private schools, and now a government school student in Delhi can compete with a student from any private school. Our government has fulfilled its promise to perform more duties. Our government can no longer be overthrown because so much work has been done. And because of this, the centre is spreading its web of conspiracies in an effort to silence our voice.”
Shri Gopal Rai emphasised, “The primary goal of these Mohalla Sabhas is to expose the government’s lies. The arrest of Delhi’s ministers was part of a Prime Ministerial plot to thwart the Aam Aadmi Party, not because of any corruption. By taking a dictatorial stance, the BJP has detained our ministers.”
