Cabinet Minister and Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj has leveled that the Lieutenant Governor (LG) is deliberately obstructing his ministry’s work by systematically removing officers from his departments. The Minister highlighted that the LG is displeased with his office’s prompt responses, leading to the removal of almost all advisors, fellows, and OSDs over the past year. He asserted that cases are being filed against his officers as part of a conspiracy to cripple the Delhi government’s operations.
Health Minister Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj, on the suspension of his OSD (Health Department), said that the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi is very upset for the last one year, that he writes a letter to me asking for any information and I send a reply to the letter within 1 hour. LG is very upset about where I get all the data and information so quickly. Not only from the Health Department, but all the advisors and other officers are being deliberately removed from all my departments.
The Delhi Cabinet Minister briefed the journalists that if you people had come to my office a year ago and go and see my office today, the entire office is lying vacant, because all the advisors, fellows or consultants who were appointed in my departments, who had studied from IIM, IIT and abroad, all of them have been removed by the LG. All the OSDs and secretaries working with me, efforts are being made to file some case or the other against them in different matters.
“There is no such case which is from my tenure, all of these are old government employees. They are being forcibly suspended by bringing out any old case. This is being done because officers are being suspended in the name of inquiry in any case and till the inquiry continues, the officer will remain suspended and will not be able to work. Indirectly, an attempt is being made to stall the work of the government,” he expressed.
Shri Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “This is not the first case, even before this, people who held the post of advisor, OSD at different times from my Irrigation and Flood Control Department, DUSIB Department, DSIIDC Department, Health Department, Urban Development Department and Delhi Jal Board Department were either suspended or fired from the job on one pretext or the other. This is being done because the LG wants the Minister’s office to be completely vacated. Neither will there be people to work nor will any work be done in the ministry.”
