On behalf of the people of Delhi, a delegation of 45 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs had tried to convince Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to clear all files related to opening of new Mohalla Clinics yesterday. Unfortunately, the L-G did not meet with the MLAs for long, and did not give any assurances to them.
However, after meeting with CM Arvind Kejriwal, Dy CM Manish Sisodia and Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Mr Baijal has assured he will clear all files by Tuesday.
Dy CM Manish Sisodia tweeted after the meeting:
Hon LG has aasured that Mohalla Clinic files would be cleared by Tuesday. If he has any queries, he'll call us for clarification.

Delhi has over 160 fully functional Mohalla Clinics, serving lakhs of residents. The AAP government aims to open 1000 such Clinics, but progress has been slow over the last few months. The L-G had not been clearing relevant files due to frivolous complaints from leaders of the Opposition.
CM Kejriwal had urged yesterday that there should be no politics over an issue of such public importance. He had requested the L-G to sit across the table and sort out the matter at the earliest, so as to not delay the project further.

Delhi’s Mohalla Clinics have received praise from world leaders like former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, and also from top medical journals like Lancet. World class primary healthcare is being provided to patients free of cost.
