The Kejriwal Government takes decisive and proactive measures to accelerate the Unique Disability Identification (UDID) Certification, addressing identified challenges head-on. Social Welfare Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand leads a thorough review and follow-up meeting, with participation from representatives of UDID-notified hospitals, the special Secretary of Health, the Secretary of Social Welfare, and other senior department officers. The meeting effectively tackles the substantial backlog in UDID certification, ensuring that Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) can promptly access government schemes for their social and financial upliftment.
During the meeting, concerns regarding the visible backlog of UDID applications on the website were discussed. Several reasons causing delays in the digitization of applications were identified, prompting the need for strategic solutions.
During this time, Shri Raaj Kumar Anand mentioned, “These measures emphasize the Kejriwal government’s commitment to expediting the UDID Certification process, ensuring that PwDs promptly access essential schemes and programs. The government is dedicated to the social and financial upliftment of the PwD community, fostering inclusivity and accessibility.”

Recognizing the urgency, it was emphasized to simplify the UDID Certification process by categorizing and addressing pending cases based on specific criteria.
Immediate attention will be given to cases where the Disability Board meeting is not a prerequisite for UDID issuance.
The Special Secretary of Health has been directed to issue necessary notifications aimed at streamlining the UDID process.
The Department of Social Welfare is committed to ensuring the provision of computer and printer requirements to the Disability Board within the next 15 days.
Deadlines have been set for the digitization of certifications and issuance of UDID – 15th February and 31st March, respectively, for representatives/members of the Disability Boards.
