The Delhi Government under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal is working in mission mode to develop world-class safer roads across Delhi and working regularly to maintain them. In this direction, Deputy Chief Minister and PWD minister Shri Manish Sisodia gave approval to a project worth Rs 3.86 crores for the beautification and development of Shankar Road under South West division. This project will give a new look to the road between Pusa chowk and Shankar Chowk, on the Shankar Road stretch.
While giving the approval to the projects, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said, “The Delhi Government is working in a mission mode to make the roads of Delhi world-class. To ensure this we are getting the roads of the capital assessed by experts so that their blue-prints to make the roads stronger and safer can be prepared.” He added that along with the strengthening of roads, the government is also paying attention to the beautification of roads. He further directed the concerned PWD officials to ensure quality work and compliance with the global standard of street design during the road construction and maintenance at the site.
Shri Manish Sisodia added that the government is working in a phased manner to make the roads under the jurisdiction of PWD better by using various advanced technologies. As the roads in these areas were developed a long time back, they have now developed cracks on their upper surface, due to which the movement of vehicles gets affected at many places. In view of this, the work of strengthening is being started by the government to avoid any inconvenience to the commuters.

The PWD Minister said, “The Delhi Government is committed to providing safe, smooth and beautiful roads to the people of Delhi. The vision of the government is to provide a better travel experience to its citizens by providing world-class roads. For this, the latest technology is being used by PWD Delhi to strengthen these roads so that the roads of Delhi can become safer for the movement of passengers. This will not only reduce congestion on city roads, but also help reduce travel time for commuters and save energy.”

Speaking about the projects, Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal the government is working in a mission mode to strengthen and beautify the roads of Delhi to make them safe and world-class. To ensure this we are getting the roads of the capital assessed by experts from universities to prepare blue-prints for strengthening of roads and to make them safe.” Following the findings of the assessment of roads, PWD is using the advanced technologies for the streetscaping of roads.
PWD does road maintenance work regularly to avoid any inconvenience to commuters across Delhi
To avoid any inconvenience to commuters in Delhi, PWD does the work of road maintenance regularly, as and when required. For the strengthening of these roads also, their present status and requirements are thoroughly inspected by the PWD officials, after which these projects get the approval of the government. Under the aforementioned projects, in the process to make the roads across the capital stronger, along with strengthening of roads the Public Works Department (PWD) will also ensure maintenance and upkeep of pavements, central verges and service lanes of the entire road stretch, including other allied works such as lane marking, white washing of parapet walls/railing etc.

केजरीवाल सरकार, राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में हर घर को 24 घंटे शुद्ध पेयजल उपलब्ध करने के लिए युद्धस्तर पर काम कर रही है। इसी क्रम में मंगलवार को उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने दिल्ली जलबोर्ड के बवाना वाटर ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट (डब्ल्यूटीपी) में 2 एमजीडी रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट के निर्माण की परियोजना को मंजूरी दी। इस परियोजना की कुल लागत करीब 10.3 करोड़ रूपये है। परियोजना का काम पूरा होने के बाद इससे जहां दिल्ली के हर घर में 24 घंटे शुद्ध पेयजल उपलब्ध कराने के लक्ष्य को पूरा करने में मदद मिलेगी। साथ ही दिल्ली की बढ़ती आबादी को देखते हुए आने वाले भविष्य के पानी के इंतजाम में भी अहम भूमिका होगी। उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने अधिकारियों को बवाना वॉटर ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट में रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट को उम्मीदों के अनुरूप बनाने और गुणवत्ता पूर्ण कार्य पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए है।
बवाना में बनेगा 2 एमजीडी क्षमता वाला वाटर रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट
उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने बताया कि बवाना में मौजूदा 20 एमजीडी डब्लूटीपी से निकलने वाले पानी को रीसाइकिल करने के लिए 2 एमजीडी क्षमता वाले रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट का निर्माण किया जाएगा। बवाना में 20 एमजीडी डब्लूटीपी का निर्माण साल 2000 में किया गया था। कैरियर लाइन्ड चैनल (सीएलसी) के चालू होने के बाद साल 2015 में इसे चालू किया गया। इस डब्ल्यूटीपी के लिए वर्तमान में कोई रिसाइकलिंग प्लांट नहीं है, जिससे काफी मात्रा में पानी की बर्बादी होती है। ऐसे में कीमती पानी की बर्बादी को रोकने के लिए केजरीवाल सरकार ने बवाना डब्ल्यूटीपी में 2 एमजीडी रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट का निर्माण की योजना बनाई है। कुछ कर्मचारियों की तैनाती के साथ अतिरिक्त 2 एमजीडी वाटर रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट संचालित किया जाएगा। रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट में पानी को फिल्टर करने के लिए ट्रीटमेंट प्रोसेस डीजेबी के मानदंडों के अनुसार होगी, ताकि आसानी से दिल्ली की जनता को साफ पानी की सीधे आपूर्ति हो सके। 10.3 करोड़ रुपये की लागत से बनने वाले रीसाइक्लिंग प्लांट के जरिए पानी की बर्बादी को रोका जा सकेगा।
दिल्ली के हर घर में 24 घंटे होगी पानी की सप्लाई
उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने बताया कि दिल्ली में अभी भी पानी का एलोकेशन पुराने नियम के आधार पर किया जा रहा है, जिसकी तुलना में आज आबादी काफी बढ़ चुकी है। ऐसे में केजरीवाल सरकार ऐसा सिस्टम बनाने पर जोर दो रही है, जिससे लोगों को घरों में 24 घंटे शुद्ध पानी मिल सके। दिल्ली की बढ़ती आबादी को देखते हुए दिल्ली सरकार आने वाले भविष्य के पानी के इंतजाम में है। दिल्ली में गर्मी के मौसम में पानी की मांग के चलते लिमिटेड वाटर रिसोर्सेज पर ज्यादा दबाव पड़ता है। ऐसे में दिल्ली जल बोर्ड द्वारा पानी में प्रदूषण को नियंत्रित करने और आबादी के हिसाब से पानी की आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने की दिशा में लगातार काम किया जा रहा है। इसी कड़ी में केजरीवाल सरकार द्वारा जल आपूर्ति नेटवर्क को मजबूत करने लिए आवश्यक निर्णय लिए गए हैं।
जलापूर्ति बढ़ाने के लिए गंभीरता से काम कर रही केजरीवाल सरकार
उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि दिल्ली में जलापूर्ति बढ़ाने के लिए केजरीवाल सरकार गंभीरता से काम कर रही है। पानी की आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के साथ साथ दिल्ली सरकार राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में सीवरेज सिस्टम को बेहतर बनाने, विभिन्न इलाकों में सीवर लाइन बिछाने और घर-घर सीवर कनेक्शन उपलब्ध कराने की दिशा में भी चरणबद्ध तरीके से काम कर रही है। यमुना में दूषित पानी न बहे इसे लेकर भी दिल्ली की विभिन्न अनधिकृत कॉलोनियों और ग्रामीण इलाकों में केजरीवाल सरकार ने डिसेंट्रलाइज्ड सीवेज ट्रीटमेंट प्लांट (डी-एसटीपी) बनाए जा रहे है।
