Revenue Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot, today visited the families of the deceased Covid-19 warriors, Smt. Jessy Mathew and Dr. Bhupendra Gupta, in the Timarpur constituency and handed over cheques of Rs 1 crore each to their families. MLA of the Timarpur constituency, Shri Dilip Pandey, and senior officers from the Revenue Department were also present. Shri Kailash Gahlot consoled the family members of the Corona warriors and assured them of all possible help from the Kejriwal government.
Late Jessy Mathew hailed from Kerala. She worked as a Medical Lab Technologist at Loknayak Hospital in Delhi. While on duty in 2021, she developed symptoms of Covid and later succumbed to Covid-19 on April 24, 2021. She left behind a husband and a daughter.
Late Dr. Bhupendra Gupta was a resident of Mukherji Nagar in Delhi. He retired from Safdarjung Hospital in 2014 and thereafter worked with Hindu Rao Hospital. During the Covid pandemic, he tirelessly served patients and became infected with the virus. Later, he lost his life due to Covid-19 on May 18, 2021. He is survived by his wife and a son.
While providing aid to the families, Shri Kailash Gahlot said, “The Delhi government will always stand with the families of Covid warriors who sacrificed their lives to protect humanity and society, without caring for their own lives. I completely understand and acknowledge that no amount of money can compensate for the loss of a loved one, but this ‘Samman Rashi’ is a way for the Delhi Government to pay tribute to the sacrifice made by these Corona warriors. We would like to express our gratitude to all our Corona Warriors who have served the people while laying their own lives on the line.”

दिल्ली के राजस्व मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत ने आज कोरोना योद्धाओं जेसी मैथ्यू व डॉ. भूपेंद्र गुप्ता के परिवारों से मुलाकात की और उन्हें एक करोड़ रुपये की सम्मान राशि का चेक सौंपा। इस दौरान उनके साथ तिमारपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र के विधायक दिलीप पाण्डेय सहित राजस्व विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी मौजूद रहें। राजस्व मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत ने कोरोना योद्धाओं के परिजनों को सांत्वना दी और केजरीवाल सरकार की ओर से हर संभव मदद का आश्वासन दिया।
दिवंगत जेसी मैथ्यू केरल की रहने वाली थीं। वो दिल्ली के लोकनायक अस्पताल में बतौर मेडिकल लैब टेक्नोलॉजिस्ट काम करती थीं। 2021 में ड्यूटी के दौरान, उनमें कोविड के लक्षण विकसित हुए और बाद में 24 अप्रैल 2021 को कोविड-19 से उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। उनके परिवार में पति और एक बेटी है।
स्वर्गीय डॉ. भूपेंद्र गुप्ता दिल्ली के मुखर्जी नगर के रहने वाले थे। वह 2014 में सफदरजंग अस्पताल से सेवानिवृत्त हुए और उसके बाद हिंदू राव अस्पताल में काम कर रहे थे। कोविड के दौरान इन्होंने मरीजों की अथक सेवा की और कोरोना से संक्रमित हो गए। बाद में 18 मई 2021 को कोविड-19 के कारण उनकी मृत्यु हो गई। उनके परिवार में उनकी पत्नी और एक बेटा है।
परिवार को सहायता प्रदान करते हुए राजस्व मंत्री कैलाश गहलोत ने कहा, “अपने जीवन की परवाह किए बिना, मानवता और समाज की रक्षा के लिए अपने प्राणों की आहुति देने वाले कोविड योद्धाओं के परिवारों के साथ केजरीवाल सरकार हमेशा खड़ी रहेगी। हम इस बात को भली-भांति समझते हैं कि प्रियजन के नुकसान की भरपाई कोई भी राशि नहीं कर सकती, यह ‘सम्मान राशि’ केजरीवाल सरकार की ओर से इन कोरोना योद्धाओं के बलिदान को श्रद्धांजलि देने का एक तरीका है। हमें अपने कोरोना योद्धाओं पर गर्व है। हम अपने सभी कोरोना योद्धाओं का आभार व्यक्त करना चाहते हैं जिन्होंने अपना जीवन दांव पर लगाकर लोगों की सेवा की है।”
