NEW DELHI:
The Delhi Government on Friday extended financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of Late Shri Karambir Singh, Sub-Inspector (Driver), Delhi Police who sacrificed his life while serving the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. F&S Minister Shri Imran Hussain on Friday visited the residence of the Late Sub Inspector in Brijpuri, Mustafabad along with the MLA of the area Shri Haji Yunus, District Magistrate North East Smt. Geetika Sharma, SDM of Mustafabad and senior officers of Revenue Department. He handed over a cheque of one crore rupees to Smt. Jai Pali Devi, wife of Late Shri Karambir Singh. The braveheart lost his life to COVID-19 during the severe Second Wave of the pandemic on June 9th, 2020. He is survived by his wife and six children, including five daughters.
Shri Imran Hussain handed over the cheque of Rs 1 crore to the family of braveheart Shri Karambir Singh, Sub-Inspector (Driver), Delhi Police as ex-gratia assistance. The Food and Supply Minister also promised the family all possible help from the Delhi Government. During the meeting with the family, Shri Imran Hussain said, “Corona warriors of Delhi worked selflessly and tirelessly during the pandemic and sacrificed their lives to protect humanity and society without caring for their own lives. Delhi Government salutes their spirit. No amount can compensate for the loss of the family of the martyred Corona warriors, but their family will definitely get a means to live a dignified life through this amount.”
Shri Imran Hussain said that Late Shri Karambir Singh sacrificed his life for the country while serving humanity, for which the whole nation is proud of him and the Delhi Government will always stand by the family. The F&S Minister also instructed the District Magistrate to extend further necessary government assistance to the family.
Shri Karamvir Singh, SI Driver, was born on December 2nd, 1960 in Fatehpur in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. He joined the police service at the age of 24 and served the Delhi Police for 35 years. He was a committed and dedicated public servant. Even during the outbreak of COVID-19, he diligently performed his duties like a true warrior.
Late Shri Karambir Singh, Sub-Inspector of Delhi Police was posted as the driver of ACP, Seelampur during the ‘second wave’ of Covid-19. Delhi Police made ACP-level officers as the nodal officers for food distribution during the lockdown. Shri Karambir Singh, who was on duty with ACP, got infected in the second wave of Covid-19 and passed away a few days later on June 9th, 2020 at the age of 59 years. The Delhi Government has extended an assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of ‘Corona-Warrior’ Shri Karambir Singh.

केजरीवाल सरकार द्वारा कोरोना योद्धाओं को सम्मान देने के लिए शुरू की गई योजना के तहत दिल्ली सरकार ने जांबाज शहीद करमबीर सिंह के परिवार को एक करोड़ रुपए की सम्मान राशि प्रदान की। दिल्ली पुलिस के सब-इंस्पेक्टर (ड्राइवर) करमबीर सिंह ने कोरोना महामारी के दौरान देश की सेवा करते हुए अपने प्राणों की आहुति दे दी। खाद्य आपूर्ति मंत्री इमरान हुसैन आज मुस्तफाबाद के विधायक हाजी यूनुस, जिलाधिकारी उत्तर पूर्व गीतिका शर्मा सहित राजस्व विभाग के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ दिवंगत उप निरीक्षक के घर पहुंचे। मंत्री ने स्वयं अपने हाथों से दिवंगत करमबीर सिंह की पत्नी जय पाली देवी को एक करोड़ रुपए का सरकारी सहायता का चैक सौंपा। करमबीर सिंह के परिवार में उनकी पत्नी और छह बच्चे (5 बेटियां और 1 बेटा) है।
इस मौके पर खाद्य आपूर्ति मंत्री ने कहा कि दिल्ली के कोरोना योद्धाओं ने महामारी के दौरान अपनी जान की परवाह किए बिना मानवता और समाज की रक्षा करने का नेक काम किया और अपने जीवन का सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली सरकार इनके जज़्बे को सलाम करती है। बेशक इस राशि से दिवंगत कोरोना योद्धाओं के परिवार के नुकसान की पूर्ति तो नहीं की जा सकती लेकिन इससे उनके परिवार को एक सम्मानजनक जीवन जीने का जरिया ज़रूर मिलेगा।
मंत्री इमरान हुसैन ने कहा कि मानवता की सेवा करते हुए उन्होंने देश के लिए बलिदान दिया है, जिसके लिए पूरे देश को उन पर गर्व है। इस दुख की घड़ी में केजरीवाल सरकार परिवार के साथ खड़ी है। इस दौरान मंत्री ने जिलाधिकारी महोदय को और भी जरूरी सरकारी सहायता के लिए परिवार की मदद करने को कहा है।
दिल्ली पुलिस के सब इंस्पेक्टर करमबीर सिंह के बारे में
करमबीर सिंह का जन्म 02.12.1960 को फतेहपुर, जिला बुलंदशहर, उत्तरप्रदेश में हुआ था। उन्होंने 24 साल की उम्र में पुलिस सेवा ज्वाइन की और 35 वर्षों तक पुलिस की अनवरत सेवा की। करमबीर सिंह जी सरकारी नौकरी के शुरुआती दिनों से ही बहुत कर्मठ और समर्पित लोक सेवक के रूप में अपना कार्य किया। कोविड महामारी के दौरान भी उन्होंने एक सच्चे कोरोना योद्धा की तरह अपने कर्तव्यों का निष्ठापूर्वक पालन किया।
दिल्ली पुलिस में एसआई करमबीर सिंह कोरोना की दूसरी लहर के दौरान एसीपी,सीलमपुर के ड्राईवर के रूप में तैनात थे। कोरोना के दौरान लॉकडाउन एन्फोर्समेंट के दौरान फ़ूड डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन के लिए दिल्ली पुलिस ने एसीपी स्तर के अधिकारियों को नोडल ऑफिसर बनाया था। एसीपी के साथ ड्यूटी पर तैनात करमबीर सिंह जी दूसरी कोरोना लहर में स्वयं भी संक्रमित हो गए और कुछ दिनों बाद दिनांक 09.06.2020 को 59 वर्ष की आयु में उनका निधन हो गया। केजरीवाल सरकार ने कोरोना वॉरियर करमबीर सिंह जी के परिवार को 1 करोड़ रुपये की सम्मान राशि प्रदान की है।
