In order to provide world-class higher education to the students of Delhi, the Delhi Government led by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal is constructing a new campus under Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Surajmal Vihar, East Delhi, spanning over 18.75 acres. The construction of the new campus of IP University in East Delhi is almost complete. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia conducted an on-ground inspection of the final phase of its construction today. It is noteworthy that about 2400 students will get world class education in this new and state-of-the-art campus equipped with world-class facilities.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that after the completion of this new campus, about 2400 students would get world class education here. Keeping in mind the present needs, 5 specialised centres including Robotics & Automation, Design & Innovation, Fire-Management, Liberal Arts are being set up in this campus. Furthermore, a world-class central library has been constructed in the premises of the campus. He said that the construction work of the campus is currently in its last phase and it will be completed soon.
He added, “under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, we are taking education in Delhi to greater heights of excellence. In the last 8 years, we have worked relentlessly to make Delhi government schools world class and today, Delhi’s Education Model is lauded all over the world. After forming the government, it has also been our priority to raise higher education to be at par with world standards and as a result of this, under the guidance of Chief Minister, we have vastly improved the infrastructure of all the universities under Delhi government, equipped them with modern facilities and increased the capacity of these universities by more than 25,000 seats.”
He said, “the schools of any country serve the role of strengthening the foundation of the nation, and its universities determine the heights of excellence that the country achieves. The Delhi Government has made education its top priority – strengthening the nation’s foundation through its schools, as well as taking the nation to greater heights through its universities, with the objective of making India No.1.”
*Features of IP University Eastern Campus*
1. Hi-tech campus constructed as per 5 star standards2. Net Zero Energy Consumption, the campus will meet its own electricity demand3. Provisions for Zero Sewage Discharge with Ground Water Harvesting4. Use of brick made of flyash to keep temperatures low5. The entire campus will utilise solar energy, solar panels will be placed on top of every building.
It is also noteworthy that the Eastern Campus of IP University consists of an Administrative Section, Auditorium, Teaching Section and Sports Section. Apart from this, a separate library block has also been built in the premises of the campus.
An academic block consisting of two 9-storey buildings and one 7-storey building has been constructed here. The campus has 4 lecture halls, each with a capacity of 120 people. There are 24 classrooms with a capacity of 100 students each. A sports hall with a capacity of 300 people has also been built here, along with a 5-storey auditorium block – which has a total capacity of 650.
Hostels and residential blocks have also been constructed for the students in the campus. Approximately 500 students can stay in the various boys and girls hostels present in the campus. There are also 48 quarters that have been made available for the staff.
Keeping in mind the growing sporting potential of our youth, along with the sports hall, 2 tennis courts and a football field are also being constructed in the campus.

The university will offer new courses such as B.Tech in Automation and Robotics, B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning etc. to the students in its eastern campus.

केजरीवाल सरकार दिल्ली में छात्रों को वर्ल्ड-क्लास उच्च शिक्षा उपलब्ध करवाने के क्रम में सूरजमल विहार,पूर्वी दिल्ली में गुरु गोबिंद सिंह इन्द्रप्रस्थ यूनिवर्सिटी के 18.75 एकड़ के क्षेत्र में एक नए कैंपस का निर्माण करवा रही है| पूर्वी दिल्ली में आईपी यूनिवर्सिटी का नया कैंपस लगभग बनकर तैयार है| उपमुख्यमंत्री व शिक्षामंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने आज इसके निर्माण के अंतिम चरण का जायजा लिया| बता दे कि इस नए व अत्याधुनिक सुविधाओं से लैस कैंपस में लगभग 2400 छात्रों को वर्ल्ड क्लास एजुकेशन मिलेगी|
उपमुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि इस नए कैंपस के तैयार होने के बाद यहाँ लगभग 2400 छात्रों को वर्ल्ड क्लास एजुकेशन मिल सकेगी| इस कैंपस में वर्तमान कि जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखते हुए रोबोटिक्स एंड ऑटोमेशन, डिजाईन एंड इनोवेशन, फायर-मैनेजमेंट, लिबरल आर्ट सहित 5 स्पेशलाइज्ड सेंटर बनाये जा रहे है| साथ ही यहाँ एक वर्ल्ड-क्लास सेंट्रल लाइब्रेरी का निर्माण भी किया गया है| उन्होंने कहा कि कैंपस का निर्माण कार्य अपने अंतिम चरण में चल रहा है और जल्द ही ये पूरा हो जायेगा|
श्री सिसोदिया ने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री अरविन्द केजरीवाल जी के नेतृत्व में हम दिल्ली की शिक्षा को नई ऊँचाइयों पर लेकर जा रहे है| पिछले 8 सालों में हमने दिल्ली सरकार के स्कूलों को शानदार बनाने का काम किया है और आज इसकी चर्चा पुरे विश्व में है| सरकार में आने के बाद उच्च शिक्षा को शानदार बनाना भी हमारी प्राथमिकता थी और इसी का नतीजा है कि मुख्यमंत्री जी के मार्गदर्शन में हमने दिल्ली सरकार के सभी विश्वविद्यालयों के बुनियादी ढांचे को बेहतर बनाया, उन्हें आधुनिक सुविधाओं से लैस किया और 25,000 से ज्यादा सीट बढ़ाने का काम किया है|
उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी देश के स्कूल वहां कि बुनियाद को मजबूत बनाने के काम करते है और देश कितनी ऊँचाइयों तक जायेगा ये उसके विश्वविद्यालय तय करते है| अरविन्द केजरीवाल सरकार शिक्षा को अपनी प्राथमिकता बनाते हुए बुनियाद को मजबूत करने के साथ-साथ देश को नंबर.1 बनाने के क्रम में अपनी यूनिवर्सिटीज के माध्यम से देश को ऊँचाइयों तक ले जाने का काम भी कर रही है|
*आईपी यूनिवर्सिटी के पूर्वी कैंपस की विशेषताएं*
1. 5 स्टार रेटिंग के मानकों के साथ हुआ हाईटेक परिसर का निर्माण 2. नेट जीरो एनर्जी कंसम्पशन के साथ कैंपस बिजली की जरूरतों को खुद करेगा पूरा 3. भूजल संचयन के साथ जीरो सीवेज डिस्चार्ज की व्यवस्था4. तापमान कम करने के लिए फ्लाइएश से बनी ईंट का हुआ प्रयोग 5. सौर ऊर्जा से जगमगाएगा पूरा कैंपस, हर बिल्डिंग के ऊपर सोलर पैनल की व्यवस्था
बता दे कि आईपी यूनिवर्सिटी के पूर्वी कैंपस में प्रशासनिक खंड, ऑडिटोरियम, शिक्षण खंड एवं खेल खंड शामिल है। इसके अतिरिक्त परिसर में अलग से लाइब्रेरी ब्लॉक भी बनाया गया है।
यहाँ 9 मंजिले 2 व 7 मंजिला 1 अकादमिक ब्लाक बनाया गया है| परिसर में 4 लेक्चर हॉल है, जिनमें प्रत्येक कि क्षमता 120 लोगों की है| साथ ही 100 लोगों की क्षमता वाले 24 क्लासरूम भी मौजूद है| यहाँ 300 लोगों कि क्षमता वाला स्पोर्ट्स हॉल भी बनाया गया है साथ ही 5 मंजिला ऑडिटोरियम ब्लॉक भी बनाया गया है जिसकी कुल क्षमता 650 है|
कैंपस में छात्रों के लिए हॉस्टल व रेजिडेंशियल ब्लाक का निर्माण भी किया गया है| यहाँ मौजूद अलग-अलग बॉयज व गर्ल्स हॉस्टल में लगभग 500 छात्र रह सकते है| साथ ही स्टाफ से लिए 48 क्वार्टर भी मौजूद है|
खेल सुविधाओं का ध्यान रखते हुए स्पोर्ट्स हॉल के साथ-साथ कैंपस में 2 टेनिस कोर्ट व एक फुटबॉल फील्ड का निर्माण भी किया जा रहा है|
