After the meeting, Environment Minister Shri Gopal Rai said, “Under the Summer Action Plan, the Kejriwal Government will start an anti-dust campaign in Delhi from May 8. Under this campaign, all the departments have been instructed to strictly follow all the rules related to dust pollution. Along with this, orders have also been issued to the department to inspect construction sites going on at different places inside Delhi and take action on the violation of norms.”

Shri Gopal Rai further said, “On May 1, Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal unveiled the Summer Action Plan to reduce pollution levels during the summer time. The concerned departments have begun their work to put it into practice on the ground based on this. During the summertime, it has been observed that dust pollution is one of the major factors in increasing the pollution level in Delhi. For this reason, today, a review meeting was held with the officers of the Environment Department and DPCC. In this meeting, under the Summer Action Plan, it has been decided to start the anti-dust campaign in Delhi from May 8. Instructions have been given to all the departments to strictly follow all the rules related to dust pollution. Along with this, under the anti-dust campaign, instructions have also been given to the departments to keep inspecting the construction site continuously.”

He concluded, “Dust generated from construction sites also contributes majorly in increasing dust pollution. That’s why all the concerned departments have been instructed to visit the construction sites continuously. These departments will ensure that all the rules are being followed at such construction sites. And if violations will be seen then, instructions have also been issued to take action according to the law.”
