Tickle your funny bone and unwind in the evenings this week with renowned comedians and poets such as Sunil Grover, Ahsaan Qureshi, Ashok Chakradhar, Ashok Gemini, et al with free entry to the shows.

Ushering in new year on a joyous note, the Kejriwal government embraces a holistic approach to development, recognizing that joy and laughter are essential threads in the fabric of the denizens. In line with this enlightened philosophy, Delhi government is thrilled to unveil an extraordinary week-long celebration of laughter and humour – the “Hasya Rang Utsav” followed by the “Laughter Weekend.”
Organized by Sahitya Kala Parishad, the cultural wing of the Delhi government, Hasya Rang Utsav is being held at the Kamani Auditorium from 2nd to 4th January for a laughter-filled extravaganza. The government, through its art and culture department, Sahitya Kala Parishad, initiated this program to provide a much-needed dose of comic relief, firmly believing that a society that laughs together stays together.
“Laughter is a universal language that binds communities. In the hustle of our daily lives, it’s crucial to take a moment and share joy. Hasya Rang Utsav is not just about entertainment, it’s about fostering a sense of togetherness and well-being,” says Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The ‘Hasya Rang Utsav’ will commence on 2nd January with a side-splitting stand-up comedy act by renowned comedian Ahsaan Qureshi, the runner-up of “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge” followed by the two hilarious plays “Mera Pati Salman Khan” and “Hakim.com.”
On the day two of the festival revel in the laughter with the winner of “India’s Laughter Champion,” Rajat Sood, and be entertained by two side-splitting plays – “Hayee Padosan” and “Zindagi Once More.”
The concluding day of the festival will see a performance by the renowned comedian Raja Rancho and a laughter-packed act, “Andhere Mein,” directed by Sunil Rawa.
Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj invites all creative enthusiasts to join this carnival of laughter, emphasizing, “Humour is an integral part of our culture. Through Hasya Rang Utsav, we aspire to create an atmosphere where every individual can unwind, rejuvenate, and share in the collective joy.”
Organized by Delhi government’s Tourism Department, the laughter spree will continue on 5th and 6th January at Ambedkar Auditorium in Janpath with the Laughter Weekend.
On Friday, the 5th of January, experience an evening of laughter with the renowned Sunil Grover, the renowned Gutthi of the “Comedy Nights with Kapil”.
On the concluding evening of the ‘Laughter Weekend’ on Saturday, 6th January, immerse yourself in the Hasya Kavi Samelan featuring Ashok Chakradhar, Arun Gemini, and other eminent poets.
“Laughter transcends boundaries and brings people together. Laughter Weekend is a celebration of the connective power of joy,” remarks Minister Bharadwaj, inviting everyone to be a part of these unforgettable experiences.
