Inspiring his party cadre to work hard to remove the dictatorship from the country, AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal urged them to pull up their socks to ensure that all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab are won by the AAP.
Addressing his party workers in Amritsar, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “I missed you all a lot. Today all our MPs, MLAs, councillors, party officials have gathered here. As soon as I came out of jail, I had told Sandeep Pathak that I want to meet all my people from Delhi as well as from Punjab. I don’t have any agenda, I have just come to meet, I feel like hugging everyone. Mann sahab (Punjab CM) used to come to meet me in jail and he would tell me that people are missing me a lot, people from our party as well as people from Punjab. But he used to say that everyone joined together like a family and handled the entire arrangement.”
The AAP supremo continued, “The intention of these people (BJP) was to arrest Kejriwal. If Kejriwal leaves (put into jail), the party will break, the government will fall. The exact opposite happened. The Aam Aadmi Party is a family, when trouble comes in the family, everyone comes together, they do not scatter. In this way all of you people also came together, and the message went to them (BJP) that arresting one Kejriwal will not work, every worker of AAP is Kejriwal. Every worker will stand up and take charge and will not let Punjab and the country bow down under any circumstances. So, they may arrest one Kejriwal, but it will not make any difference to the AAP.”
“When I used to hear this inside the jail, I used to get very encouraged that the journey we have started, the spark that we have ignited, is not going to die out now. Now whether I am alive or not, it will not make any difference. Now these people sitting here, each one of them will move ahead by becoming 100 Kejriwals,” he affirmed.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal further added, “They tried a lot to break me even in the jail. Mann sahab used to come. Mann sahab is the Chief Minister of Punjab, I was and am the Chief Minister of Delhi, I had not resigned. It is written in the jail manual that if the Superintendent wants, they can hold a meeting of both of us in a room. There is this provision in it. From here, Punjab Police and Mann sahab’s office used to write that the CM of Punjab is coming to meet the CM of Delhi. But they did not arrange a meeting of mine with Mann sahab in the room. I was on one side of the jail’s bars and Mann sahab on the other. We used to stand on either side of the jail’s bars and talk.
The AAP National Convenor asserted that what do they want to prove by this? They thought that they were insulting Kejriwal, Kejriwal does not get insulted by small things. As long as Mother India’s head is high, Kejriwal’s head is high. Kejriwal is not different from Mother India.
He mentioned, “I have been suffering from diabetes and I take insulin. I have been suffering from diabetes for 20 years and have been taking insulin for 10 years. When I went to jail, they stopped my insulin. My sugar level crossed 300. I requested them several times to give me insulin, but they did not give me insulin. If the sugar level remains high for many days, then a person’s kidneys and liver get damaged. I don’t know what their motive was, but history is witness that many times very powerful people, kings and emperors in many countries, including India, have put the leader of the opposition in jail and caused physical harm to them. I don’t know what they wanted to do. I don’t know what their motive was.”
“There were two CCTV cameras installed in the cell where I was kept. I was monitored 24 hours a day. What time did I get up, what time did I go to the bathroom, how long did I stay in the bathroom, what time did I come out, how long did I stay in the toilet, changed my clothes, did I watch TV or not, what time did I eat and what did I eat. The feed of my CCTV camera went to the rooms of 13 officers, and it was coming on their TVs. Thirteen officers were monitoring me 24 hours a day. Just think, if you come to know that someone is monitoring you 24 hours a day, how will you live? A person is relaxing, doing anything, if he feels like sleeping, he sleeps, if he feels like waking up, he stays awake. If you come to know that someone is watching you 24 hours a day, it becomes difficult for you to live,” the AAP chief expressed.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that he was told that one of his feeds used to go to the PMO. There were two TVs in the PMO on which they were monitoring what Kejriwal was doing in the cell. “So, they tried to break me completely, but I kept doing my meditation, kept reading books, I am not bothered by them. God’s blessings are with me, I have strength within me. I have inner strength because we are truthful, the power of truth is within us,” he added.
Appealing to the people present in the gathering, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that now I want to request you people, yesterday I came here, went to Darbar Sahib, bowed our heads, got many blessings, and enjoyed a lot. After that we went to Durgiana Mandir, now we will go to Ram Tirath to seek blessings. It is the blessings of great saints and God that are with us and what we have earned. So, I just want to say that 10-12 days are left (June 1 is the date of polling in Punjab), we have to work hard. You have to win all these 13 seats. I have to surrender on the 2nd, I will go back to jail. On the 4th, the day the results will be coming, I will be watching TV from my jail cell. I will get a lot of relief when I come to know that all 13 seats of Punjab have gone to the AAP. Do not disappoint me, I know you people will not disappoint me.
The AAP supremo shared, “With the blessings of God, the Supreme Court has given me 21 days. In these 21 days, I have decided that I will dedicate every second, every moment, every second to the country. I am not wasting even a single moment. I went to Lucknow yesterday morning, came straight from Lucknow to Punjab and participated in many programs. Now from here I will go straight to Bhiwandi, from Bhiwandi to Bombay and from there I will reach Delhi late at night. The dictatorship that is going on in our country is not acceptable. India has not seen such a period in 75 years where opposition leaders are caught and put in jail. Like Putin is doing in Russia, he either put all the opposition leaders in jail or got them killed. And then elections were held, and he received 87% of the votes. Now when there is no opposition, you will get all the votes.”
“Here they put me and Manish Sisodia in jail, and froze the bank account of the Congress, they are harassing TMC, putting Stalin’s ministers in jail. Put everyone in jail and only one party and one leader will survive. If democracy does not survive, the country will be destroyed. We should not let this happen. The democracy in our country is our biggest strength. Our constitution of Baba Saheb Ambedkar is our biggest strength, and we should not let it end, even if you have to give your life for this, then give it. I am wholeheartedly fighting against this. I have devoted everything to save the country and hope that every worker of the AAP will work wholeheartedly to save the country and the constitution,” Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded.
