Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh has appealed to the people across the country for financial help to save the life of a child suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type-2 disease. On Friday, he started a campaign to save the life of the child by holding a press conference at the party headquarters in the presence of the child’s parents. He said that if the child is not given an injection to cure the disease before completing two years of age, then his life might be at risk. The injection given for this disease costs ₹17 crores and a common person cannot buy such an expensive injection. Therefore, I have provided financial assistance of ₹1 lakh from my side. I appeal to the people that everyone should come forward to save the life of this child and help him financially according to their capacity.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha Shri Sanjay Singh said that this child named Vehant Jain has MMA type-2 disease. Doctors have confirmed this and warned that if the child is not given the injection within two years of age, his life can be in serious danger. As a human being, it is our responsibility to help the child. Little drops of ocean can fill the mighty ocean. The injection given for this disease is very expensive. It is not possible for a common individual to afford it. The cost of the injection for this disease is ₹17 crores. Trinagar resident Vehant Jain’s father Shri Mohit Jain is an engineer and mother is a CA. Mother Garima Jain has left her job due to the child’s illness.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP requested and appealed to the people of Delhi and the country with folded hands that the whole country should come forward to save the life of this child. So, try and help the child in whatever way possible. You can help the child from ₹100 to whatever amount you can according to your financial condition.
“I appeal to the people of all parties along with the AAP to come forward to help the child. Also, all social, religious and other organizations should also help the child so that the child’s life can be saved. The media is also requested to spread this appeal to as many people as possible so that people can come forward to save the child’s life. The central government should also raise the issue of the child’s treatment at the United Nations and other places. I believe that wherever children are suffering from this disease in the whole world, they should get good and affordable treatment. Ordinary parents cannot afford an injection worth ₹17 crores,” Shri Sanjay Singh said.
Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned that he is providing financial help of ₹1 lakh from my side for the treatment of Vehant Jain. Earlier also, he had also provided financial help to other children suffering from this disease.

Apart from this, a QR code has also been created on the mobile number 9871205883, where financial help can be given through Paytm, PhonePe or Gpay app. Impact Guru will also provide the benefit of 80G. (Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961, allows taxpayers to save tax by donating money to eligible charitable institutions. By donating to eligible institutions and organisations, taxpayers can claim deductions ranging from 50% to 100% of the amount donated.)
