The Social Welfare Department of Delhi Government is launching such a mobile app through which pensioners will be able to know the complete status of their pension while sitting at home. Giving information about this, Social Welfare Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said that pension has emerged as a much-needed relief for the elderly and disabled, which they always wait for. That’s why they often visit government offices to get information about their pension. To solve this problem of the elderly and disabled, the Social Welfare Department of Delhi Government will soon launch the Pension App.
The Social Welfare Minister on Monday held a review meeting with senior officials of the Social Welfare Department to ensure that the people associated with the Old Age and Disabled Pension Scheme in Delhi get the benefits of government schemes on time. During this, he also gave instructions to form a committee at the district level to help the pensioners.
The Social Welfare Department is going to launch a pension app soon to give information about pensions to the elderly and differently-abled people of Delhi. Now pensioners will get all the information related to pensions while sitting at home through a mobile app on their smartphones. The information on which day the pension will come and how long it will take will also be available on the mobile app.
In the review meeting of the department, Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand also instructed the officers to speed up the pension distribution process. He said that the elderly and disabled people eagerly wait for the pension given by the government every month. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the government will constitute committees in every district to provide doorstep facilities to the elderly of Delhi. Social Welfare Minister Shri Raaj Kumar Anand said that District Facilitation-cum-Grievance Redressal Committees would be formed in every district to help the pensioners. The aim of these committees will be to ensure that doorstep assistance is provided to every pension holder.
The Delhi government gives pension to more than 4.5 lakh elderly people associated with the old age pension scheme in Delhi. Persons in the age group of 60 to 69 years get a pension of Rs 2,000 per month and persons above 70 years of age get Rs 2,500 per month. In this also, an additional amount of Rs 500 per month is given to the beneficiaries of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Minority community. Along with this, the Delhi government also gives a monthly pension of Rs 2,500 to 1.5 lakh Divyangjans.
