The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has vehemently objected to the CBI’s false claim regarding CM Arvind Kejriwal’s statement in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. Senior AAP leader Jasmine Shah stated that the BJP-directed Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was caught lying, falsely asserting that CM Arvind Kejriwal had shifted all blame onto Manish Sisodia.
The Delhi Chief Minister immediately refuted this claim in court, challenging the CBI to present any evidence of such a statement. The judge reviewed the recorded statement and confirmed that CM Arvind Kejriwal had made no such remarks, declaring the CBI’s claim entirely false and unsubstantiated. The AAP Leader accused the BJP of using the ED-CBI to smear AAP leaders’ reputations.
Senior AAP leader Jasmine Shah said in a press conference at the party headquarters on Wednesday that this morning, the CBI arrested CM Arvind Kejriwal and presented him in the Rouse Avenue court. They wanted to conduct custodial interrogation of CM Arvind Kejriwal for which the CBI presented him before the court to get permission for the same. Both the parties presented their arguments throughout the day and the court has kept the order reserved for now, which it will give shortly.
The AAP Leader continued, stating, “The CBI has been caught red-handed lying in front of the court. This is happening for the first time that the judge of the court himself has said that there is no coordination between what the CBI is saying and the evidence it has. Investigation is going on in this entire matter of the alleged liquor scam of Delhi for the last 2 years. Time and again the AAP has said that the whole case is fake and fabricated. The CBI and ED are filing false cases at the behest of the BJP only to finish AAP and to keep CM Arvind Kejriwal in jail. Time and again we have said this with facts about how based on fake witnesses the ED and CBI are filing their charge sheets and putting AAP leaders in jail.”
He further added that during the hearing in the court, the CBI lawyer, out of the blue, said that CM Arvind Kejriwal had washed his hands off the matter and had put the entire blame on Manish Sisodia. On this, CM Arvind Kejriwal immediately protested and told the judge that the CBI is lying and he has never given such a statement. He said that Manish Sisodia, he and the entire AAP are innocent. He challenged the CBI to show his statement in which he had said this statement. The judge examined his statement and clearly said that CM Arvind Kejriwal has not given any such statement and, that the CBI is completely lying.
“Today, the CBI was caught making political statements in the court. CM Arvind Kejriwal exposed the intention of the CBI in the court. The CBI wanted CM Arvind Kejriwal to give such a statement that would create a sensation in the media. The judge also found the CBI’s claim to be wrong,” he stated.
Jasmine Shah mentioned, “The AAP has repeatedly said that in the BJP rule, the ED and CBI are being used only to manage media and to create sensation in the media. It is being used to tarnish the image of CM Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and the AAP. Today this has been proven true in the court. We have said from the beginning that this entire case is fake. On the orders of the BJP, the CBI and ED write any argument of their own. Even today, when the CBI lawyer said that CM Arvind Kejriwal is blaming Manish Sisodia, it is clear that these are the words of the BJP. But when the court read CM Arvind Kejriwal’s statement, it accepted that the CBI was lying.
“Today these people have been completely exposed. The ED-CBI has become only the political mouthpiece of the BJP. This truth has come before the country,” he expressed.
Responding to media questions, Jasmine Shah said that now this issue is no longer a matter of justice, but it has taken a political colour. All the investigating agencies of the country including ED and CBI have been put behind CM Arvind Kejriwal. When he gets bail in the trial court, these people reach the High Court. CM Arvind Kejriwal’s bail is stopped without a court order.
“In April 2023, the CBI interrogated CM Arvind Kejriwal for 9 hours. After this, the CBI remained silent on this matter till June 2024, but when it came to know that the trial court granted bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal in the ED case, the CBI woke up from its sleep. They thought how can CM Arvind Kejriwal get bail like this? So, they immediately arrested him by making him an accused. This shows the panic of the BJP. This shows how much these people hate CM Arvind Kejriwal and how much they are afraid of him. That’s why they do not want CM Arvind Kejriwal to get justice,” said the Senior AAP Leader.
He further stated that these people (BJP) are trapping him by filing false cases one after the other. Truth can be troubled, but not defeated. We have faith in the Constitution of the country. Even if we have to suffer for this, our leaders have to stay in jail for a few more months, but justice will be served.
“Various arguments of the trial court completely expose the ED. We are confident that truth will prevail in the end. In this entire process, it will become clear to the country how the BJP has declared an emergency in the entire country and this is a blatant dictatorship. It does not want to let any major political opponent stand against it. It wants to keep them in jail by doing anything, no matter what it has to do for this. This shows that the ED and CBI are not impartial investigation agencies. They have been exposed in front of the entire country,” Jasmine Shah concluded.
