Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia on Thursday interacted with the students of ITI Khichripur. He discussed the importance of ITI courses and their career aspirations after ITI. During the discussion, students shared that ITI’s professional courses have raised their confidence immensely, and strengthened their belief in their ability to fulfil their aspirations far more than that after graduation. They no longer hold the fear that they may have to wander endlessly for employment opportunities after studying. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the talented students emerging from training institutes like ITI will initiate a new chapter for the development of India with their ability. He said that our country will become developed only when every single youth of our country is empowered with skills. It is noteworthy that in the past few years, many advanced courses have been started in the Delhi Government’s ITI keeping in mind the needs of the industry and the market. Almost 100% of the children studying in these ITIs are placed with firms, and others are skilled enough to begin their own ventures. Today, during the ITI visit, the Deputy Chief Minister saw that many children present here are studying at ITI after 12th and graduation. The Education Minister asked the students why they are pursuing professional courses which they can do after 10th, even after completing studies in 11th – 12th, and after graduation. Responding to this, every student said that their ITI course is giving them far more confidence than their studies in 11th & 12th or graduation. The students said that when they were in school, they did not have the confidence to believe that they could fulfil their career aspirations, and that they would be able to achieve something in the future. But ever since they came to ITI, they have found the much needed clarity to pursue their professional dreams and also the conviction to fulfil them. The ITI course is recognised to be at par with the 11th-12th class qualification in Delhi Govt’s Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, and ITI’s students can directly enrol in a degree or diploma course there after completing ITI. This removes the fear amongst students that if they come directly to ITI after 10th, they will lose out on the sought-after qualification of 11th and 12th grade. The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University has worked relentlessly to remove this fear from the minds of ITI students. Shri Manish Sisodia said that across the world, the focus is centred on professional courses. “But even today, in India, as well as in several other developing countries, children are unfairly made to believe that unless they complete their graduation, they would not be able to achieve much professionally. However, on the contrary, in developed countries – the focus lies on technical education and skill building.”
The Deputy Chief Minister added that today thousands of graduates are lining up for jobs in the market for which those who have cleared the 8th grade are also eligible. In such a situation, what is the use of a graduate degree which cannot empower students to find suitable employment? He continued, “this mindset is now changing across many countries. Perspectives have shifted away from traditional belief systems in education and the emphasis has shifted towards technical education. In India as well, this is the mindset and policy perspective we need to move forward with.” Shri Manish Sisodia exhorted the students of ITI to become the catalysts of change in our society where it is believed that if a student does not pursue graduation, then there is a huge gap in the education of the said child. “We have to empower children to adopt professional courses, and the students of our ITIs must inspire school students to adopt this route for education. He said that a program will be designed in which students and graduates of ITI can interact with school students, share their experiences and encourage children to pursue professional courses in ITIs.”

उपमुख्यमंत्री व शिक्षामंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने गुरुवार को केजरीवाल सरकार के खिचड़ीपुर, आईटीआई में छात्रों के साथ संवाद कर आईटीआई के कोर्सेज के महत्त्व पर चर्चा की और इस बात पर चर्चा की, कि वे आईटीआई के बाद अपना क्या भविष्य देखते है| संवाद के दौरान छात्रों ने बताया आईटीआई के प्रोफेशनल कोर्सेज से उन्हें ग्रेजुएशन से ज्यादा आत्मविश्वास मिल रहा है| और अब उन्हें इस बात का डर नहीं है कि कोर्स के बाद उन्हें नौकरी के लिए भटकना पड़ेगा| इस मौके पर उपमुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि आईटीआई जैसी संस्थानों से ट्रेनिंग लेकर निकलने वाले हुनरमंद छात्र भविष्य की नई इबारत लिखेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि हमारा देश विकसित तभी बनेगा जब देश का हर युवा स्किल्ड हो, इसलिए डिग्री हासिल करने के साथ-साथ युवाओं को हुनरमंद बनना होगा|
बता दे कि केजरीवाल सरकार के आईटीआई में पिछले कुछ सालों में इंडस्ट्री व बाजार कि जरूरतों को देखते हुए बहुत से आधुनिक कोर्सेज कि शुरुआत कि गई है| इन आईटीआई में पढने वाले लगभग शत प्रतिशत बच्चों का प्लेसमेंट हो जाता है या फिर वे अपना खुद का काम शुरू कर देते है| आज आईटीआई विजिट के दौरान उपमुख्यमंत्री ने देखा कि यहाँ मौजूद बहुत से बच्चे 12वीं व ग्रेजुएशन के बाद आईटीआई कर रहे है|
शिक्षामंत्री ने छात्रों से पूछा कि ऐसा क्यों है कि 11वीं-12वीं व ग्रेजुएशन के बाद भी युवा वो कोर्स कर रहे है जो वे 10वीं के बाद बही कर सकते है| इसपर हर छात्र ने इस बात को बहुत अच्छे से बताया कि आईटीआई का उनका कोर्स से उन्हें 11वीं-12वीं या ग्रेजुएशन की पढाई से ज्यादा आत्मविश्वास दे रहा है| छात्रों ने बताया कि जब वे 11वीं-12वीं में में थे तो उनमे आत्मविश्वास नहीं था, यह समझ नहीं थी कि वे आगे क्या करेंगे| लेकिन जबसे आईटीआई में आये तबसे उन्हें अपने भविष्य की तस्वीर साफ़ हो गई है और उनका आत्मविश्वास भी बढ़ा है|
साथ ही केजरीवाल सरकार कि स्किल यूनिवर्सिटी में जिन छात्रों ने आईटीआई की है उनके आईटीआई कोर्स को 11वीं-12वीं की मान्यता मिलती है, और वे सीधे डिग्री,डिप्लोमा कोर्स में दाखिला ले सकते है| इससे छात्रों का यह डर दूर हो जाता है कि अगर दसवी के बाद सीधे आईटीआई में आ गये तो उनकी 11वीं-12वीं का क्या होगा| दिल्ली स्किल एंड एंत्रप्रेन्योरशिप यूनिवर्सिटी ने आईटीआई के छात्रों के इस डर को दूर करने का काम किया है|
उपमुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि आज पूरे विश्व में प्रोफेशनल कोर्सेज पर फोकस किया जा रहा है| लेकिन आज भी भारत के साथ-साथ कई विकासशील देशों में बच्चों के मन में चाहे-अनचाहे ये बात डाली जाती है कि यदि उन्होंने ग्रेजुएशन नहीं किया तो कुछ नहीं किया| उसके विपरीत विकसित देशों में टेक्निकल एजुकेशन पर फोकस किया जाता है| उन्होंने कहा कि आज जब 8वीं क्लास की एलिजिबिलिटी की कोई नौकरी निकलती है तो उस नौकरी को पाने के लिए हजारों की संख्या में ग्रेजुएट बच्चे लाइन में लगे होते है| ऐसे में उस ग्रेजुएशन की डिग्री का क्या फायदा जो आपको नौकरी न दिला सकें|
उपमुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि दुनिया के बहुत से देशों में अब ये मानसिकता बदलने लगी है और उन्होंने शिक्षा को लेकर अपनी परम्परागत मान्यताओं से दूर जाना शुरू कर दिया है और टेक्निकल एजुकेशन पर फोकस किया है| भारत में भी हमें इस सोच के साथ आगे बढ़ने की जरुरत है|
श्री सिसोदिया ने आईटीआई के छात्रों से आह्वान किया कि एक ऐसे समाज में जहाँ यह माना जाता है कि यदि ग्रेजुएशन नहीं कि तो बच्चे की पढाई में बहुत बड़ी कमी रह गई| वैसे समाज में हमें बच्चों को प्रोफेशनल कोर्स की ओर मोड़ना है तो हमारे आईटीआई के बच्चों को हमारे स्कूलों के बच्चों को इंस्पायर करना होगा| उन्होंने कहा कि इसके लिए जल्द ही एक कार्यक्रम डिजाईन करेंगे जिसमें ईटीआई के बच्चों को स्कूलों में आईटीआई के लिए संभावित बच्चों से संवाद करवाया जायेगा और प्रोफेशनल कोर्सेज के लिए प्रेरित किया जायेगा|
