Dy. CM Manish Sisodia interacts with Delhi contingent of the NCC Cadets who participated in Republic Day Parade 2019

The Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia met & interacted with 111 NCC Cadets who made Delhi proud as the Delhi contingent in the Republic Day Parade, 2019. These cadets were selected among 40,000 cadets from schools and colleges of Delhi.

Interacting with the contingent, the Dy. CM said, “I thank your senior officers, who organized this interaction at an opportune time. I have been fortunate to be an NCC cadet in my school life. My father, a teacher was an NCC officer too, and that ambience and way of life had a great impact on my life too. I am sure you all have not opted for NCC only to accentuate your career with the certification, but to actually use the ‘NCC way of life’, in your lives, whether you go in the army, or do a business or maybe a job. How to be courageous, how to be disciplined, how to be organised and how to get along with the world at the same time – the science will help you get through any phase of life. The way you march in alignment, similar alignment is needed in the society, in govt. administration, in society and in the country at large. This is an experience that you can multiply with those who didn’t get the opportunity to be an NCC cadet in school, but everyone can learn absorb the learning outcomes of being an NCC cadet, through you.“

These thirty seven girls & seventy four boys who are there in the contingent, stayed for a month in January at DGNCC Camp, Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt. along with all NCC cadets of other states and participated in competitions organized in the camp. The DNGCC Camp was inaugurated by Hon’ble Vice President of India Sh. Venkaiah Naidu. Cultural competitions, drills, firing competitions were organized in the camp in January, where 19 cadets from the Delhi contingent got selected, which is a record number. These 19 cadets from Delhi formed part of NCC contingent of the Republic day parade at Rajpath on 26th Jan ‘19. As a part of youth exchange programme, two cadets out of this contingent namely Junior Under Officer Mehak Saini & Junior Under Officer Tanvi Nara have come back from Russia & Vietnam.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia awarded the 19 winners, Tanvi Nara & Mehak Saini, and concluded the interaction with partaking in high tea and group pictures, with the cadets and their senior officers.
