Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia congratulated Delhi government school teachers showcasing their performances at the Teachers’ Talent Show organised at Connaught Place, New Delhi here on Friday. Shri Manish Sisodia was present as the Chief Guest at the event that featured 50 school teachers presenting theatre, songs, musical plays and other performances at the Central Park area.
“Whenever I visit our Delhi Government schools, I often come across really talented teachers. I am completely mesmerised by their hidden talents- some can sing really well, others turn out to be gifted painters and artists. So the idea behind organising this show is to encourage our school teachers to explore and showcase their talents on a larger platform, in front of a huge audience,” said Shri Manish Sisodia
Talking about the idea behind the show , Deputy Chief Minister said, “I am happy to see the dedication of our teachers who are performing before us today. The motive behind this show is to let our inner child out, without thinking about the hierarchies and protocols that holds us back. The idea is to shred our inhibitions and hesitation and embrace the world and all other human beings as our equals. And as equals, we are here, present together at this common platform. I don’t think there could be any other better way to unite and come together than through this cultural programme revealing the other side of us.”
It is a one-of-its kind initiative undertaken by the Delhi government to encourage teachers of Delhi Government schools to showcase their talents and gain confidence, along with promoting art and culture in the city. The talent show brought along a lot of vigour and excitement amongst the teachers who practised hard and won a huge applause from the audience along with words of appreciation from the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Shri Manish Sisodia.
A range of classical and contemporary dance performances were also showcased at the event. The idea behind the show was not only to open up a large platform for the teachers to explore their talents but also to leave the audience with a social message through a number of street plays.
