In a remarkable testament to the success of the Kejriwal government’s education model, this year has seen an unprecedented accomplishment: over 1400 students from Kejriwal government schools have qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). This milestone not only highlights the transformative impact of the educational reforms but also sets a new benchmark for public schooling in the entire country.
Sharing this great achievement through a press conference, Delhi Education Minister Ms. Atishi said that the students of Delhi government schools have consistently performed brilliantly in the NEET exam and after the NEET results this year, the children studying in Delhi government schools have broken their NEET records of the last several years. This year, 1414 students of Delhi government schools have qualified for the NEET exam.
The Delhi Education Minister shared, “The number of children qualifying for the NEET exam from Delhi government schools has been increasing every year. In 2020, this number was 569, in 2021, 2022, 2023 and now in 2024, this number has continuously increased to 1414. That is, in just 5 years, the number of children qualifying NEET has increased 2.5 times.”
Minister Atishi said that 255 students of STEM specialization of the Kejriwal government’s flagship school, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence, appeared in NEET and 243 of them qualified for the exam, that is, 95% of the students qualified for the NEET exam.
The Education Minister further said, “I think that no school in the entire country or any big institute with big advertisements would have had such a great success rate of 95%. This year students of 12 Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Specialized Excellence, where students prepare for medical exams in the STEM stream, appeared for NEET and out of these, 6 schools have got 100% result, that is, every student who appeared for NEET has qualified the exam.”
The Education Minister said, “I congratulate all the students who qualified for the NEET exam, their parents, teachers and school principals and on behalf of all Delhiites, I thank Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal; under whose leadership such an education revolution has come Delhi in the last 10 years, in which the poorest of the poor children studying in Delhi government schools are getting the best education and are getting admission in the best higher education institutions.”
“Till 10 years ago, no one could have even imagined that children studying in government schools would qualify for the JEE and NEET exams. But 1414 children from poor families studying in Delhi government schools have qualified for the NEET exam and in the coming time will go to the best medical institutions of the country, bringing glory to Delhi, the country and their families,” She mentioned.
“The Chief Minister of Delhi keeps saying that for any country to develop, it is important for the government to provide good education to every child, whether they come from a rich family or a poor family. I am happy that in Delhi, a child from even the poorest of poor families can now not only dream but can also fulfil them,” Minister Atishi concluded.
