  • Delhi’s 2nd Mega Parent Teacher Meet (PTM) brings parents and schools closer
  • Report Card PTM in Delhi’s Government schools helps parents understand children’s academic performance
  • With enhanced parent-teacher partnership, Mega PTM ends with optimism

Delhi’s 2nd Mega Parent Teacher Meeting was held successfully across all Government schools, in both Morning and Evening shifts on Saturday. After a tremendous feedback from parents for July’s Mega PTM, the Delhi Government organised the 2nd edition as a ‘Report Card PTM’. Teachers shared children’s Report Cards with parents, for the Summative Assessment that was held in the last week of September.

Schools had laid out the red carpet for parents, and light refreshments were offered to all. Since this was the second such initiative, many parents were more aware of what to expect and had come prepared with questions and clarifications from teachers. The Delhi Government has made several efforts to improve parent involvement in children’s education, so that an environment conducive to education can be developed outside classrooms as well.

The Mega PTM has been one of the most important and widely appreciated interventions of the Government in the field of education. A robust education system understands the importance of keeping parents in the loop and taking them into confidence. Teachers explained the idea behind the Government’s ‘Every child can read’ campaign which is intended at ensuring 100% child literacy before 14th November. Parents were encouraged to engage with children about activities conducted in school as well.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Shri Manish Sisodia visited some schools in his constituency to meet parents. He said, “We are very happy with the amazing turn out of parents even for this PTM. Parents have found the perfect window or platform to engage and interact with their children’s teachers. It is an excellent opportunity for both parents and teachers to understand the child’s requirements better. Everyone, teachers, children, parents are happy about PTMs.”

PWD Minister Satyendar Jain, Labour Minister Gopal Rai also visited many schools and interacted with parents and children.

The Delhi Government’s mission to upgrade Delhi’s government schools and make them the preferred choice for all children of Delhi took a giant leap after today’s PTM. Parents trust and confidence in the quality of education provided at government schools is growing and will continue to grow as the Government takes more such initiatives for quality, affordable public education.
