NEARLY, 4092 STUDENTS TOOK COACHING SO FAR OUT OF THE PROPOSED 5000 STUDETNS IN A YEAR.

After the successful launch of meritorious scheme Jai Bhim Mukhyemantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana last year, approximately 4092 students have enrolled for the coaching facilities to various courses so far out of the proposed target of 5000 students in a year.
To review the scheme Minister SC/ST Rajendra Pal Gautam chaired a high level meeting today with Jt. Dir Planning, Addl Sec DSCST, Sec DSCST & DD Education and senior officers from Finance dept. to discuss the success rate and proposed amendments to reach out to a bigger number of students.
“Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana” is a scheme for providing free pre-coaching scheme for SC/ST students for preparing themselves for various examinations conducted by UPSC, DSSSB, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board and other examinations of officers grade conducted by banks and insurance companies and for preparing for pre examination for medical and engineering education.
Minister informed that success of this scheme can be rated on the fact that number of enquiries pouring in from other states to start such schemes in their respective states. And a good number of students have already enrolled and took coaching from the listed institutes.
It is proposed in a meeting to form a monitoring committee to look after the quality of the education and student’s continuity in the respective coaching centres, stipend given to them is on time or other such modalities involved in the scheme to be closely monitored.
It is proposed to do certain modifications in the modalities of the scheme vis-a-vis; Premier institutes for preparation of Civil Services Examination, Entrance Exams for medical and engineering, Judicial Services Examinations will be empanelled.
The duration of the coaching programme for the civil services examination should be extended up to 12 months so that sufficient time should be given for preparation of main exam, after the preliminary examination. Empanelment of the institutes for Civil Services Exams, should be done separately for optional subjects, as coaching institutes do not provide coaching for all optional subjects generally. Duration of other coaching programme for preparation of entrance exams should also to be extended. Quantum of fee for coaching programme to be extended upto 1.5 lakhs so that premier institutes can also rope in to give maximum benefit to the students.
Presently, maximum sealing of the coaching fees is upto Rs. 40,000/-. Apart from fee, stipend of Rs. 2500/- per student, per month through ECS is also been provided to the students.
It is also proposed that Coaching institutes may be allowed to maintain 75% as a minimum percentage of students from Govt. Schools to maintain the exact ratio of students as 75:25 (From Govt: Private Schools)
Government of Delhi, with the objective to provide quality coaching for economically disadvantaged SC students to succeed in various competitive examinations and to get better jobs and educational opportunities, is dedicatedly working for the upliftment of the marginalised sections of the society.
