नई दिल्ली। वजीराबाद में नाले की सफाई के दौरान जान गंवाने वाले एक मजदूर के परिवारवालों से मिलने के लिए दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल 23 जनवरी, बुधवार को उनके घर पहुंचे। मुख्यमंत्री ने परिवार की मदद के लिए 10 लाख रुपये की घोषणा की है। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने ये भी आश्वासन दिया है कि परिवार के एक सदस्य को नौकरी दी जाएगी।

उल्लेखनीय है कि एक स्थानीय कॉन्ट्रैक्टर के जरिये नाले की सफाई के लिए गये इस मजदूर की रविवार को मृत्यु हो गई थी। परिवार से मिलने के बाद मीडिया से बातचीत के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा, सीवर की सफाई के दौरान एक मजदूर की मृत्यु हो गई थी। ये बेहद दुखद और दर्दनाक है। सीवर की सफाई के मामले में दिल्ली सरकार ने बहुत कड़े नियम बना रखे हैं लेकिन कई बार, कुछ कॉन्ट्रैक्टर और इंजीनियर नियमों का उल्लंघन करते हैं। ये लोग पर्याप्त सुरक्षा के मजदूरों को नाले में उतार देते हैं। ये मामला भी ऐसा ही लग रहा है। इस मामले में लापरवाही करने वाले कॉन्ट्रैक्टर्स और इंजीनियर्स के खिलाफ हम सख्त कार्रवाई करेंगे।

मुख्यमंत्री ने ये भी कहा, दिल्ली सरकार इस परिवार को 10 लाख रुपये की आर्थिक मदद दे रही है। इसके अलावा इनके परिवार के एक सदस्य को हम नौकरी भी देंगे। मैं खुद मीटिंग लूंगा और सुनिश्चित करूंगा कि नाले की सफाई के दौरान कोई भी कॉन्ट्रैक्टर या कोई अन्य व्यक्ति नियमों का उल्लंघन ना करे। हम ये भी सुनिश्चित करेंगे कि भविष्य में ऐसी घटनाएं दोबारा ना हो। इस हादसे में कॉन्ट्रैक्टर ने नियमों का उल्लंघन किया है। कॉन्ट्रैक्टर के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की जाएगी। इस मामले में हम इंजीनियर्स की भूमिका को भी देखेंगे। दिल्ली सरकार ने नालों और सीवर की सफाई के लिए नियम बना रखे हैं। इसके तहत पर्याप्त सुरक्षा इंतजामों और अन्य नियमों के पालन के साथ सफाई की जानी चाहिए।

Chief Minister of Delhi Sh. Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday, January 23 met the family of the deceased labourer who died while cleaning a drain in Wazirabad. He announced financial help of Rs. 10 lakh to the family of the deceased.

The Chief Minister also assured the family that one member from the family will be given a job.

The labourer died on Sunday while cleaning a drain at the behest of a local contractor.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said, “A labourer died here while cleaning a drain. It is very sad and painful. Delhi Government has set a very stringent norm for cleaning of drains and sewers, but many times, some contractors & engineers violate the rule and ask the labourers to enter the drain or sewer without proper safety kit and all. This also prima facie looks like a similar case. We will take strong action against the contractor & the engineer involved in this.”

“Delhi Government will give a financial help of Rs. 10 lakh and also provide job to one member of the family. I will myself take a meeting and ensure that the contractors or anyone don’t violate the rules for cleaning of drains and sewer so that such incidents don’t occur again. The contractor has made several violations and action will be taken accordingly; we will also look into the role of the engineers,” said the Chief Minister.

Delhi Government has fixed norms for cleaning of drains & sewers. The cleaning has to be done with proper safety kit and other norms also have to be followed.
