Today Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in presence of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, Aam Aadmi Party’s South Delhi Lok Sabha in-charge Raghav Chadha, and Badarpur MLA Narayan Dutt Sharma, inaugurated the work of laying pipelines by the Delhi Jal Board in Jatpur Extension Part-II of Badarpur Assembly. The Chief Minister also addressed the huge public gathering at the event.
Addressing the crowd Arvind Kejriwal said, “We got Independence in 1947 when the British left and we got democracy.
Democracy means that citizens will cast their vote and elect a government of their choice. Now it is the duty of the party to work according to the needs of the citizens.
However, this is not the case for Delhi. The people choose their government but the power of the Delhi government is dictated by the central government.”
“For 70 years people of Delhi have been demanding full statehood. Congress promised to grant the status but didn’t despite being in the centre and state both. PM Modi himself promised to grant full statehood if all the seven MPs were elected from BJP but forgot once he became the PM. We have the chance now”
“I want to ask why is Delhi, the capital of the nation, not a clean city yet? When the capital cities of other countries are can be clean and beautiful, why has Delhi been lagging behind? The reason is that the body responsible for keeping Delhi clean, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), is under the Central Government. Even with DDA, the body responsible for building houses for the people of Delhi, is riddled with corruption. The DDA is also under the Prime Minister. Why is sealing happening in Delhi today? Because DDA did not build shops in Delhi. People are helpless and have to live in unauthorised colonies because DDA didn’t build houses in Delhi.”
“When a crime is committed against you like theft, robbery or crime against women, you go to the Delhi police but they are unresponsive. You then go to your local MLA, who is helpless because the police isn’t answerable to him, you might come to the Chief Minister but I also have no authority on the police. The police comes directly under the Prime Minister, but do you think he will grant you an audience? I would like to say to him, that you handle Pakistan and give Delhi Police back to the people of Delhi”
“Just as states like Haryana, Punjab and Maharashtra have full governments, it’s time for Delhi after 70 years of independence to attain full statehood. In just four years the government schools and hospitals have improved like never before. The only thing that has changed is now there is an honest government is ruling the state. If Delhi becomes a full state then crime against women, robberies and loot will decrease. Delhi will shine and all the citizens of unauthorised colonies will get proper houses.” “When I promised that I will slash electricity rates by half before the last elections, BJP and Congress made fun of me and said electricity rates can never go down but the AAP government went ahead and did what it promised. Today I am telling you that if Delhi becomes a full state, within ten years every family will have proper housing.Temporary workers will be made permanent. I want to open Universities for which I wrote to the Central government three years earlier, but permission hasn’t been granted to this day. When Delhi attains full statehood, we will open colleges so that even the students with 50% marks will be get admission in quality colleges.”
“The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are extremely important for the people of Delhi. For the last 20 years, both BJP and Congress promised to make Delhi a full state but never lived up to their promises. PM Modi himself promised to make Delhi a full state. The power of a vote in Delhi should not be lesser than the votes in other states. If Delhi becomes a full state, our youth will get jobs, you will all get homes and women safety will be improved.”
At the beginning of his speech, MP Sanjay Singh paid homage to the soldiers who had been martyred in the Pulwama attack. Singh said that he requests the Government of India to respond in the same language as the attack on our soldiers and that anything less will not be accepted.
He said, “CM Kejriwal’s government in Delhi built Mohalla Clinics that have been discussed in countries like the USA, France, Germany and other countries around the world. Earlier people would say to learn from America but America says learn from Kejriwal and from the Aam Aadmi Party.”
Singh further added; “CM Kejriwal heads a government that saved 300 crores in the construction of five flyovers and spent the money saved on making mecidines and healthcare free for all in Delhi.”
“By providing the largest compensation to farmers, a sum of Rs 50,000, and giving the families of martyrs a compensation sum of Rs 1 crore, CM Kejriwal has lived up to the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.”
“Kejriwal turned profit at the Delhi Jal Board despite providing free water to the public. Many are unable to stomach the work that CM Kejriwal has done for the poor, the labourers, the slum-dwellers, and people in unauthorised colonies. This is why they are obstructing Kejriwal’s work and troubling him from carrying out his duties. They are not able to tolerate how someone who leads such a simple life can become the Chief Minister of Delhi. I have said this a thousand times to PM Modi that no matter how many raids you conduct of Arvind Kejriwal, at most you may find an extra muffler or two.”
“If you want your rights back in 2019 and want Delhi to achieve full statehood, make sure you vote for our younger brother Raghav Chadha in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Raghav could have been in London earning a fortune in a comfortable corporate job, but instead he chose to serve the people of Delhi. Make sure you all vote for Raghav Chadha and ensure he enters the Lok Sabha. No matter what party comes to power at the Centre, we will fight for the rights of the people of Delhi, and we will succeed. Vote for AAP for all the seven seats in the upcoming elections.”
“As the elections approach, they will attempt to divide people along the lines of caste and religion, but remember to vote for the party that talks about healthcare, education, jobs, and the betterment of the people of Delhi. There’s only one leader in Delhi who is capable of taking on PM Modi and the entire BJP, and his name is Arvind Kejriwal.”
“To divert votes during the elections, Congress is being projected as a strong contender, but don’t believe any such rumours about the Congress party. Congress won zero seats. In Delhi, every vote that goes to Congress will be directly strengthening Narendra Modi’s and Bharatiya Janata Party’s position. This is why every vote should be cast for the Aam Aadmi Party only.”
“Vote for Raghav Chadha and send him to the Parliament with a a margin of lakhs of votes and we shall give a befitting reply to the hooliganism of the BJP leaders in South Delhi.”
While addressing the crowd, Raghav Chadha said, “The Seven MPs from BJP have not done any work for the people of Delhi in the past 5 years. Rather, they have only created roadblocks in development works of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. If you want to get rid of all the current BJP MPs, and want developmental activities by Arvind Kejriwal to gain pace; then vote for AAP in the upcoming elections and ensure all the seven MPs are elected from AAP”
