Delhi government in association with the Delhi Medical Association will launch a Dengue Awareness Programme in 200 schools across the city from Wednesday (20th July).

Health and Education departments have tied-up with the DMA to ensure that atleast one doctor is present in every school mentioned in the first list of 200 schools on Wednesday to make students aware on how to prevent the spread of Dengue in the national capital.

In a meeting with Health Minister Satyendar Jain, the DMA delegation led by its President Dr Rakesh Kumar Gupta made a presentation about the awareness programme to be conducted in government and private schools.

The programme will be titled – Aao School Chalen and the DMA proposes to encourage its members to adopt a school each to ensure that students and teachers are able to get tips for prevention and treatment of Dengue without any difficulty.

The programme is scheduled to continue till the month of October and will begin with awareness for prevention of mosquito bites, which will include tips for protection and encouragement of a dry day atleast once a week – preferably Sundays, so that students can persuade their parents and neighbours not to allow accumulation of water at homes and around.

Students will also be told to cover three houses to their right and left or in front and at the back to persuade people not to allow any water accumulation point – either from washing of cars to water dripping from coolers and air conditioners.

The Health Minister has thanked the DMA for its initiative and appreciated the doctors who have voluntarily enrolled themselves to carry out this awareness programme, which he termed as extremely important for Delhi during the Monsoon months.

डेंगू एडीस मच्छर के कारण होता है।
यह मच्छर एक बार में काफी जगह पर थोड़े थोड़े अंडे देता है ताकि अगर कुछ जगहों पर अंडे किसी वजह से मर भी जाएँ तो बाकी जगहों पर अंडे वयस्क मच्छर में परिवर्तित हो सकें।
इस मच्छर के अंडे 1 साल तक जिन्दा रह सकते हैं उसके लिए इन्हें पानी की भी जरुरत नहीं होती।साल भर के अंदर ये अंडे जब भी पानी के संपर्क में आते हैं तो लार्वा में बदल जाते हैं और अपना जीवा चक्र पूरा कर लेते हैं।
कुछ लोग जो यह सोचते हैं की यदि कूलर को धो कर सुखा देने से हमने मच्छर को बढ़ने से रोक दिया है तो यह गलत है क्योंकि जब आप अगले साल कूलर में पानी भरेंगे तो अंडे फिर से जिन्दा हो जायेंगे और अपना जीवन चक्र पूरा करके मच्छर में बदल जायेंगे और डेंगू फैलाना शुरू कर देंगे।
जब भी आप कूलर बंद करके रखें तो दोबारा इस्तेमाल से पहले उसकी घांस को जला दें व कूलर को दोबारा पेंट करें।

एडीस मच्छर अपना जीवन चक्र 4 हिस्सों में पूरा करता है

1.अंडे ,जो की पानी वाली या सूखी जगह पर दिए जाते हैँ जिनकी आयु लगभग 1 वर्ष होती है पानी मिलते ही ये लार्वा में बदल सकते हैं अन्यथा 1 साल तक सुप्तावस्था में भी रह सकते हैं।
इन्हें नंगी आँखों से नहीं देखा जा सकता। मच्छर ये अंडे छोटे छोटे समूह में कई स्थानों पर एक साथ देता है जिससे किसी स्थान पर ये नष्ट भी हो जाएँ तो भी इनका वंश चलता रहे।
एक मादा मच्छर 1 बार में इतने अंडे देता है की अगर सभी अंडे वयस्क मच्छर में बदल कर दोबारा अंडे दे तो 1 महीने में लगभग 1 ट्रक भरकर मच्छर तैयार हो जायेंगे।
डेंगू के बारे में कुछ रोचक जानकारी::
डेंगू का मच्छर दिन के समय काटता है ।दिन के समय हम एक्टिव होते है तो मच्छर को ज्यादा देर नहीं बैठने देते और उड़ा देते हैं।जबकि रात में सोते हुए हम उतने एक्टिव नहीं होते तो मच्छर एक ही बार में पेट भर कर खून पी लेता है। इसीलिए मलेरिया का मच्छर जो रात में काटता है एक बार में एक ही आदमी को काटता है पर डेंगू का मच्छर एक बार में 5 से 7 लोगो को काटता है।
मतलब डेंगू का मच्छर एक बार में 5 से 7 लोगो को बीमार कर सकता है।
डेंगू के बारे में कुछ रोचक जानकारी::
डेंगू का मच्छर ज्यादा दूर तक नहीं उड़ सकता इसलिए जब किसी घर में पाया जाए तो उसके आसपास 50 मीटर तक स्प्रे या फोगिंग कराना चाहिए।
डेंगू से अगर बचना है तो अपने साथ साथ पडोसी के घर का भी ध्यान रखना पड़ेगा।
डेंगू की जांच के लिए अगर कोई कर्मचारी आये तो उसका सहयोग करें क्योंकि यह सिर्फ कूलर में ही नहीं मिलता अपितु घर के अंदर कई ऐसी जगहों पर मिलता है जो साधरांतया हम देख नहीं पाते।
डेंगू के बारे में कुछ रोचक जानकारी::
लार्वा डेंगू के जीवन चक्र की दूसरी स्टेज है।ये अवस्था 6 से 8 दिन तक रहती है।इसमें लार्वा का आकार बढ़ता है और लगभग 1 सेंटीमीटर तक हो जाता है।यह लार्वा साफ़ पानी में रहता है।अगर हम पानी इतने लंबे समय तक एकत्रित न होने दे तो हम इसे वयस्क मच्छर बनने से रोक सकते हैं।
पानी में लार्वा दिखाई देने पर पानी को सूखी जगह पर फेंक दे जिससे ये लार्वा पानी के बिना मर जाए।
