Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s unwavering dedication to serve the people of Delhi despite his incarceration has become a source of escalating tension for the BJP and the Modi government. The Modi administration seeks to strip CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal of even his basic rights behind bars.
Senior AAP leader and MP, Shri Sanjay Singh, has unveiled a startling revelation, disclosing that the Chief Minister relayed a message to his MLAs through legal channels, urging them to engage with the people, hear their grievances, and seek solutions. However, this noble endeavour has sparked an investigation by the Modi government. Meanwhile, Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been threatened with his familial and legal interactions curtailed. Despite attempts by Modi ji to bend and break him through torment, CM Arvind Kejriwal remains resolute, and the electorate of Delhi and the nation stand poised to answer through the ballot.
Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Shri Sanjay Singh, said at a press conference at the party headquarters on Wednesday that Delhi’s CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, popularly elected with a resounding majority three times, is being held by the Modi government in jail through its Hitleresque means. They (Modi Government) want to impose Hitler rules on him. They want to turn Tihar Jail in Delhi into Hitler’s gas chamber. “PM Modi is curtailing CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal rights, which are even provided to the most dreaded criminals in jail. Even the biggest criminals can talk to their families and lawyers,” he added.
The AAP Rajya Sabha MP continued, “Two days ago, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal met with his lawyer. During this time, he sent a message to his MLAs to go to their constituencies every day, listen to people’s problems, and solve them. What’s wrong with this? If the chief minister doesn’t give this message to the MLAs, who will? After giving this message, an investigation has been launched against the CM, and he is being threatened that even meetings with his family and lawyer will be stopped. This is a very dangerous situation.”
Shri Sanjay Singh further asked can Shri Arvind Kejriwal not know about the condition of his family and elderly parents while in jail, can’t he know if their health is okay or not? If he doesn’t talk to his lawyers, how will he fight his case? Under what crime the Modi government is punishing Shri Arvind Kejriwal for? Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s only crime is that he has served the 2-crore people of Delhi. He has worked to provide good education to the children of Delhi. Free electricity and water to the people of Delhi, free bus travel for women, and pilgrimage facilities for the elderly have been provided. The CM has worked to bring happiness to the faces of the elderly and announced financial assistance of ₹1,000 per month for women. The Modi government wants to punish Shri Arvind Kejriwal for this very reason.
“When Shri Arvind Kejriwal is legally meeting his lawyers in jail, during that time, 8 to 10 policemen surround him from all sides. Around the world, it’s a rule in jails that when a prisoner talks to their lawyer, no one can overhear their conversation. This is not just in Delhi; this rule is followed everywhere in the world. It’s a legal provision. Despite this, you (Modi Government) surround him with 8-10 policemen nearby. Does Modi ji want to turn Delhi’s Tihar Jail into Hitler’s gas chamber? Do you want to turn Delhi’s jail into a place of torture? Can’t a chief minister send messages to his MLAs for the service of his people?” Shri Sanjay Singh mentioned.
The AAP MP affirmed that they (Modi Government) want to emotionally break Shri Arvind Kejriwal. They want to bend him by giving him torture. But their attempt to break Shri Arvind Kejriwal will go in vain. Shri Arvind Kejriwal will never break. These tortures will not make any difference. The great people of Delhi and the country will ask for answers from the Modi government for everything. The 2-crore people of Delhi will answer it. “We have told people to respond to these tortures with their votes. Whatever Modi ji is doing, the people of the whole country will respond to it with their votes,” he added.
“We have been given a new time to meet with CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal in jail. It’s quite amusing that when the Chief Minister of a state and a Member of Parliament from Delhi seeks time to meet with the Chief Minister of Delhi who is imprisoned, they are allocated a token number by the jail administration. But then, later, it gets cancelled. How can you cancel the meeting after allotting the token number? It’s clear that the jail authorities are not acting on their own, but under pressure from the Modi government. The Chief Minister of Punjab and a Member of Parliament from Delhi wanted to meet the thrice-elected Chief Minister in a usual manner. Initially, the jail administration allocated us a token number, stating that we would meet Shri Arvind Kejriwal on today’s date, then the meeting was cancelled. This raises a big question,” he concluded.
