Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has approved an ex-gratia amount of Rs 10 lakh for the grieving family of the Shahbad Dairy murder victim. This decision comes in the wake of the Chief Minister’s announcement of financial aid and comprehensive legal support for Sakshi’s family, yesterday. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has also vowed his unwavering support for the family of Sakshi, promising to stand by them in every possible way. With the CM’s approval, the file has been forwarded to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) for further action.
Announcing the decision, the CM tweeted, “Have approved and sent the file to Hon’ble LG for supporting the family of Sakshi with an amount of Rs 10 lakhs. We stand with her family. Will support them in every possible way.”
Notably, a horrifying incident was reported in media on May 29, that a 16-year-old girl was stabbed many times and bludgeoned with a stone to death in public view. The Victim was a resident of JJ Colony Shahbad Dairy. The brutal murder was also captured by a nearby CCTV camera.
Earlier, On Tuesday, on the directions of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Women and Child Development Minister Ms. Atishi had visited the family of the victim and offered her condolences. She assured them of the full support of the Kejriwal government and pledged to ensure justice for the victim.
