The Delhi Government led by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal is standing in support of the construction workers of Delhi. Due to air pollution, the livelihood of construction workers has ceased because of the closure of construction activities in Delhi. With this in view, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal announced assistance for more than 10 lakh registered construction workers of Rs 5000 each. He tweeted, “Construction activities have been stopped across Delhi in view of pollution. I have directed Labour Minister Shri Manish Sisodia to give Rs 5000 pm as financial support to each construction worker during this period.” Rs 500 Crore will be spent on the scheme. The assistance amount will be deposited by the Delhi Government directly in the accounts of the registered construction workers soon. The Delhi Government had spent Rs 350 crores to support 7 lac construction workers last year. Even during the Corona crisis, the Delhi Government had provided an aid of Rs 5000 to all the construction workers.
The Delhi Government had imposed a complete ban on construction and demolition activities owing to the rise in pollution, recently. Due to the sudden construction ban there was a sense of anxiety among the workers who found them out of work for an uncertain period. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal immediately took cognisance of the matter and came to the aid of construction workers at this critical time. He directed Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia who holds the Labour portfolio to issue a monthly assistance of Rs 5,000 to all construction workers till the pollution ban continues. Delhi Government believes that construction workers are the backbone of our country, who strengthen the country. Therefore, it is the priority of the government to take care of the interests of the workers.
Informing the public about this decision, Shri Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “Construction activities have been stopped across Delhi in view of pollution. I have directed Labour Minister, Shri Manish Sisodia, to give Rs 5000 per month as financial support to each construction worker during this period, when construction activities are not permitted.”
*Over 10 lac construction workers to benefit from the aid*
Over 10 lac construction workers are registered with the Delhi Government till date. The assistance will be transferred to the bank accounts of all these workers. The government will be spending over Rs 500 crores on this scheme.

The Delhi Government had finally supported all the construction workers last year as well during the pollution induced ban. Back then there were 7 lac registered workers and Rs 350 crores was spent on the scheme by providing all workers with an aid of Rs 5,000 per month.
*Delhi Government has imposed a ban on construction in line with CAQM’s directives under GRAP*
On October 30, Environment Minister Shri Gopal Rai had informed about a ban on construction and demolition works in view of the increasing pollution problem in Delhi. On the orders of CAQM, the Delhi government had decided to implement the restrictions under the third phase of GRAP in Delhi. The Delhi Government has formed 586 teams to monitor the ban on construction works. To control air pollution, 521 water springing machines, 233 anti smog guns, 150 mobile anti smog guns have been deployed in Delhi.

मुख्यमंत्री श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने वायु प्रदूषण के चलते दिल्ली में निर्माण कार्यों पर प्रतिबंध के कारण श्रमिकों को आर्थिक संकट से उबारने के लिए आज एक बड़ा ऐलान किया है। सीएम श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली में निर्माण कार्यों में लगे पंजीकृत सभी श्रमिकों को पांच हजार रुपए की वन टाइम आर्थिक मदद देने का ऐलान किया है। सीएम श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के इस ऐलान से दिल्ली में पंजीकृत हजारों श्रमिक लाभांवित होंगे। सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल ने एक ट्वीट कर कहा, ‘‘पूरी दिल्ली में प्रदूषण को देखते हुए निर्माण गतिविधियों को रोक दिया गया है। मैंने श्रम मंत्री श्री मनीष सिसोदिया को इस अवधि के दौरान प्रत्येक निर्माण श्रमिक को वित्तीय सहायता के रूप में 5000 रुपए प्रतिमाह देने का निर्देश दिया है, जब निर्माण गतिविधियों की अनुमति नहीं है। दिल्ली सरकार के इस निर्णय से 10 लाख से ज्यादा निर्माण श्रमिकों को फ़ायदा होगा और वित्तीय सहायता के तौर पर उन पर 500 करोड़ रुपए से अधिक खर्च किया जाएगा। उल्लेखनीय है कि दिल्ली सरकार ने पिछले साल भी प्रदूषण के चलते निर्माण गतिविधियों पर प्रतिबंध होने के दौरान पंजीकृत 7 लाख से अधिक श्रमिकों को 5-5 हजार रुपए की वन टाइम वित्तीय सहायता दिया था और इस पर करीब 350 करोड़ रुपए खर्च आया था।
मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के नेतृत्व में दिल्ली सरकार निर्माण श्रमिकों के साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलकर खड़ी है। दिल्ली सरकार का कहना है कि श्रमिक हमारे देश के रीढ़ की हड्डी हैं, जो देश को मजबूती प्रदान करते हैं। मजदूर खड़े हैं तो हमारी इमारतें खड़ी हैं। इसलिए श्रमिकों के सम्मान व उनके हितों का ध्यान रखना सरकार की मुख्य प्राथमिकता में है। दिल्ली में वायु प्रदूषण के चलते निर्माण गतिविधियों पर रोक लगाई गई है। इसलिए श्रमिकों को आर्थिक संकट से उबारने के लिए दिल्ली सरकार उनकी हर संभव मदद करेगी। इसी के मद्देनजर दिल्ली सरकार ने दिल्ली में पंजीकृत सभी निर्माण श्रमिकों को वन टाइम 5-5 हजार रुपए की वित्तीय सहायता देने का ऐलान किया है। वित्तीय सहायता देने के लिए जल्द ही फंड जारी किया जाएगा और श्रमिकों को खाते में तत्काल वह राशि ट्रांसफर कर दी जाएगी। दिल्ली में हजारों की संख्या में निर्माण श्रमिक पंजीकृत हैं। सरकार के इस फैसले से उन हजारों श्रमिकों को फायदा मिलेगा।
गत 30 अक्टूबर को दिल्ली के पर्यावरण मंत्री श्री गोपाल राय ने दिल्ली में बढ़ते प्रदूषण की समस्या को देखते हुए निर्माण एवं विध्वंस कार्यों पर रोक लगाने का आदेश दिया है। दिल्ली सरकार ने सीक्यूएएम के आदेश पर दिल्ली में ग्रेप के तीसरे चरण के अंतर्गत पाबंदियों को लागू करने का निर्णय लिया गया है। दिल्ली सरकार ने निर्माण कार्यों पर रोक की निगरानी के लिए 586 टीमें बनाई है। वायु प्रदूषण को नियंत्रित करने के लिए दिल्ली में 521 वाटर स्प्रिंगलिंग मशीनें, 233 एंटी स्मॉग गन, 150 मोबाईल एंटी स्मॉग से गन पानी का छिड़काव किया जा रहा है।
