In line with the Delhi Government’s vision of providing quality education in all government schools, the Food & Civil Supplies Minister and MLA of Ballimaran, Shri Imran Hussain, chaired a meeting with DDE Central, DD Zone, along with Heads of nine government schools of the Ballimaran assembly constituency. The meeting was also attended by senior officers and engineers of the Education Department, DUSIB and PWD. The Minister reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects and facilities provided to the school children.
During the meeting, the officials of the Education Department informed the Minister that a proposal to start a second shift in two Government schools from the new session, in GGSSS Chasma Building School and GGSS Zeenat Mahal School, respectively, had been forwarded to Education Directorate. This step was taken keeping in view the educational needs of the residents of the locality. Shri Imran Hussain directed the Education Department to install smart boards in classrooms to aid in imparting education with modern technology.
Shri Imran Hussain also reviewed the facilities provided by the schools in the area and directed the officials to ensure that all the basic necessities are fixed at the earliest. Keeping in view the ensuing summer season, the Minister also asked the school authorities to ensure clean drinking water facilities for the students and the staff of the school. Shri Imran Hussain further directed the officials for proper maintenance and replacement of non-functional water coolers installed on school premises.
Shri Imran Hussain also asked the officials to expedite the renovation work of SKV Idgah Road and the GGSS Zeenat Mahal School, which includes the renovation of the Science laboratory, as well as complete the installation work of the porta cabin for the Nursery classroom in SKV, Idgah Road. He also directed the officials to ensure that the school classrooms should be equipped with modern infrastructure and have the best modern facilities for the students.
Shri Imran Hussain directed the officials that there should be no delay in the project of construction of new classrooms due to Inter-departmental coordination. He also desired to convene a review meeting of concerned officers to remove the interdepartmental objections to avoid further delay in the ongoing projects. Shri Imran Hussain added that the development of schools and the Delhi Education Model have always been the priority of the Delhi Government, and this is the reason why Delhi Government schools are competing with private schools today.
Shri Imran Hussain directed that Chasma Building School’s historical structures should be revived and restored with their original features, and heritage structures of buildings will be restored with original material and construction techniques, structural retrofitting and restoration techniques.
During the meeting, the F&S Minister directed the officers of the Education Department to take the necessary steps to start the primary wing from class nursery in the other government schools. Hon’ble Minister also took note of the vacancy position of teachers in Government schools and instructed the Education Department to deploy sufficient numbers of teachers in the Government Schools in the new upcoming session.
Shri Imran Hussain instructed the senior officers of the Education Department to visit government-aided schools in the area at regular intervals so that the quality of education in these schools could be improved and they will avail facilities provided by the Delhi Government.
