AAP MLA from Babarpur assembly constituency and Delhi Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai on Monday held a review meeting with the MCD officials regarding the ongoing development work of the constituency. Touring the meeting Shri Rai said that there is a need to independently audit the stadium work at the Tikona Park because several complaints on this matter were received. Earlier also MCD sent two show-cause notices on the same issue to the contractors but no response was received. Shri Rai said that he has directed the MCD officials to meet the RWA representatives and enquire regarding the complaints of use of substandard material in this work.
Shri Rai said, “I have received various complaints regarding the construction work of the mini-stadium which is being built at the Tikona Park. Taking cognizance of these complaints which clearly show that substandard materials were used in the construction I have directed to hold a third-party audit on this matter.”
During the meeting, MCD officials said that because of the irregularities in the construction work, they had already sent two show-cause notices to the contractor. However, the officials also said that despite these notices the contractors are not following the rules and mentioned guidelines. Shri Rai directed that immediate action should be taken and the matter should be thoroughly probed.
Shri Rai said, “I have directed the MCD officials to meet the RWA representatives and enquire regarding the complaints of use of substandard material in this work.”
