In a resounding display of dissent, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took to the streets of Delhi to denounce the arrest of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Organizing candle marches and igniting effigies of the Prime Minister and the BJP, AAP leaders and Delhiites voiced their outrage across the city. Led by senior AAP leader and Cabinet Minister Atishi, the protests commenced with fervor in Kalkaji constituency. INDIA Alliance’s candidate from East Delhi Lok Sabha and MLA Kuldeep Kumar, and MLA Sanjeev Jha from Burari Assembly, held demonstrations reverberating the sentiment of defiance. Despite heavy-handed attempts by the police to quell the protests, the people’s resolve remained unshaken, signaling a stark rebuke to BJP’s alleged authoritarianism. As Delhiites decried BJP’s actions as crossing a line, they rallied behind CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the city.
On this occasion, senior AAP leader and cabinet minister Atishi, leading the candle march, said that in the history of the country, it has never happened before that immediately after announcement of the elections the national convener of a national party has been arrested. The bank account of a major national party is frozen. The roads leading to the national office of the Aam Aadmi Party have been barricaded and closed for the past 2 days. All this is an attempt to prevent opposition parties from contesting elections in the country. This is a direct assault on democracy in the country.
She said that despite a two-year investigation into the alleged liquor scam, involving hundreds of raids and officers, not a single penny of corruption was found from AAP leaders. Yet, all the top AAP leaders were arrested. Meanwhile, a liquor businessman who changed his statement against Arvind Kejriwal gave a donation of 60 crore rupees from BJP. Today, the BJP will have to answer for this.
AAP leader Atishi said that if the ED is indeed an independent investigative agency, then based on this evidence, BJP should immediately be made the accused in their investigation, and BJP President JP Nadda should be arrested.
Ms. Atishi said that by arresting the popular Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, PM Modi has made a big mistake. Every dictator meets his end, and PM Modi’s mistake will prove to be the end of his dictatorship. The people of Delhi love their Chief Minister very much, and PM Modi’s excesses will be answered by Delhi and the entire country.
She said that Arvind Kejriwal is not just a person, he is an inspiration. These people can arrest Arvind Kejriwal, but how will they arrest his revolutionary thinking? Arvind Kejriwal is an idea, an inspiration, a spark. You can put Arvind Kejriwal in jail, but how will you imprison his ideas? The spark of patriotism that Arvind Kejriwal has ignited among millions of people in the country, how will you imprison that in jail?
Ms Atishi said that PM Modi may have put Shri Arvind Kejriwal ji in jail, but now every leader and worker of AAP will come down to the streets, as Shri Arvind Kejriwal, and will respond to their dictatorship of BJP.

In this series, INDIA Alliance’s candidate for East Delhi Lok Sabha Seat, Shri Kuldeep Kumar organized a candle march in solidarity with CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. He said, “We have taken to the streets in protest against the arrest of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Today, the people of Delhi are asking why CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been arrested and put in jail? Today, the people of the country are questioning PM Modi about why BJP took such a hefty donation from Sarath Chandra Reddy’s company, whom your ED has made a government witness in Delhi’s alleged liquor scam.”
“Today, we are on the streets because BJP is trying hard to eliminate the country’s popular leader Shri Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. But even after that, Shri Arvind Kejriwal resides in the hearts of Delhi. Shri Arvind Kejriwal is Delhi’s son, then the Aam Aadmi Party and the people of Delhi will struggle on the streets and fight for their son Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Today BJP is scared and nervous. It has realized that it is going to lose the elections. That’s why it wants to stop Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s election campaign. This is why a conspiracy has been hatched by arresting Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The country is witnessing that BJP is completely immersed in corruption and has become a ‘Chanda Chor’ (Donation Thief),” the AAP Leader said.

Meanwhile, Burari MLA Shri Sanjeev Jha, during a candle march and effigy burning, said it feels like the rule of the British. We have received this democracy due to the struggle of our ancestors. The Constitution has given us the freedom to protest and speak. Prime Minister Modi is bringing dictatorship within the country. Police are deployed everywhere. What are they (BJP) afraid of? Something is fishy. The people of Delhi and the country will arrange for the consequences of your (BJP) misdeeds. You (BJP) are trying to stop us by deploying police. This is not the police of the British; it is here to ensure the safety of the people of the country. Don’t turn it into the police of the British, otherwise, what happened to the British will happen to PM Modi and BJP as well. You cannot stop our protests. PM Modi should stop using the police to suppress democracy. Police personnels haven’t donned uniforms to crush the rights of the people. We have been elected by the people so that we can stand with them in their joys and sorrows and protect the Constitution and democracy of this country. The Aam Aadmi Party will celebrate Holi only after the end of dictatorship.
