Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and MCD in-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak said the BJP ruled North MCD has not released dry ration provided by the Kejriwal govt for the MCD run school children for the last several months. He said that the BJP has a corrupt nexus with industrialists and diverting the dry ration provided by the Kejriwal government. Shri Pathak said that doing corruption with the money provided for the dry ration of these poor children is absolutely unacceptable. He said if BJP does not release the dry ration within 4 days then AAP will launch a massive protest against the BJP ruled MCD.
Shri Pathak said, “Last year Delhi and the entire nation witnessed the COVID-19 pandemic which devastated the lives of many people. Every person of our society faced some kind of loss due to the pandemic but the worst affected section was the poor children of the government or local body-led schools. Last year to continue the education system the online education is being used across the schools in India but the children from lower economic background families always could not avail these classes.”
He said, “The health of the children is also a very important aspect and that is why we provide mid-day meal to every school children. But due to the pandemic, most of the schools under the Delhi government were closed, therefore, no midday meal system was working. To solve this problem the Delhi government came up with a plan of distributing dry ration to the children. Last month Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal launched this scheme of distributing dry ration to the government and MCD school students.”
He said, “The Kejriwal government did not do any kind of discrimination and it was decided that this scheme will be implemented in both Delhi government schools and BJP ruled MCD run schools. The Delhi government is providing this dry ration from its own budget. It is utterly shameful that the BJP ruled MCD is not distributing the dry ration to the children.”
Shri Pathak said, “The BJP ruled North MCD has not provided dry ration to the children of the schools under their purview for the last eight months. The BJP is ruling the MCD for the last 15 years and during these years they have done rampant corruption across the sectors. The BJP ruled MCD has transformed Delhi to the garbage capital of India and gifted three massive landfills. At one side the employees of the BJP ruled MCD are starving and on the other side, the councillors are getting richer every day. But doing corruption with the money provided for the dry ration of these poor children is absolutely unacceptable.”
He said, “In this case, the MCD is not spending a single penny because the Delhi government under Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal is providing this dry ration to the MCD schools. The Aam Aadmi Party believes that the BJP has corrupt nexus with some big industrialists and by using that food is going somewhere else. The Aam Aadmi Party condemns this behaviour of the BJP in strong words and we will not allow such corruption with the foods of children.”
He said, “The Aam Aadmi Party demands that the BJP should immediately release the dry ration for the children. These children who study in the MCD schools belong to the poor economic strata and such corruption with their food is highly shameful. The Aam Aadmi Party is giving the BJP 4 days to release these dry ration and if they do not release then we will launch a massive protest against the BJP ruled MCD.”
