The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will hold large-scale protests at BJP headquarters nationwide to denounce the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday. Demonstrations are planned at BJP offices in Delhi and 22 states, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. According to AAP, CM Arvind Kejriwal was on the verge of securing bail from the Supreme Court when the BJP-led central government orchestrated his arrest via the CBI. AAP claims this move is part of a larger strategy by the BJP to eliminate political opposition and prevent CM Arvind Kejriwal from contesting elections.

The Aam Aadmi Party says that the BJP’s central government is misusing all the central investigating agencies for its political purposes. The CBI did not make CM Arvind Kejriwal an accused in the so-called liquor case for the last two years. But when the BJP felt that CM Arvind Kejriwal was going to get bail from the Supreme Court, they put the CBI forward. Their aim is not to investigate any case nor do they have anything to do with the law. The BJP wants to keep the Delhi CM in jail by any means, keep him away from elections and finish the Aam Aadmi Party. Therefore, the BJP is misusing central institutions to fulfill its political objectives.

The AAP says that the trial court had granted bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal in the so-called liquor case. The very next day, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) reached the High Court and got a stay on his bail. In this case, the stay on Arvind Kejriwal’s bail from the High Court was about to be lifted by the Supreme Court, when the CBI arrested him. Earlier, the CBI had called him for questioning as a witness for the first time on 16 April 2023. Then they did not make him an accused and for 14 months the CBI did not remember to make CM Arvind Kejriwal an accused? Now suddenly the CBI woke up after so much time and arrested CM Arvind Kejriwal.
