The Aam Aadmi Party leaders on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for arresting Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and not providing him insulin in jail at the “Ulgulan Nyay Maharally” of INDIA alliance held in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Smt Sunita Kejriwal said that these people want to kill my husband in jail by not giving him insulin. Arvind Kejriwal has been a diabetes patient for 20 years and has been taking 50 units of insulin daily for about 12 years. But they are not being given insulin.
Addressing a huge gathering that had assembled braving heat in Ranchi, Smt Sunita Kejriwal talked about the six guarantees given by CM Kejriwal to the countrymen. Kejriwal has guaranteed that after the formation of the INDIA alliance government, 24 hours free electricity will be provided to the entire country. Schools and hospitals will be built in every village and locality, and everyone will get free education and medical treatment. Farmers will be given fair prices for their crops and Delhi will be made a full state, she said.
Smt Sunit Kejriwal said Prime Minister Modi ji put my husband, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ji, in jail, your favourite Chief Minister Hemant Soren ji was also put in jail. Today you tell me what his (Arvind Kejriwal’s) fault is, what is the fault of Hemant Soren ji. The court did not find them guilty, no guilt was proved, yet they put them in jail through deceit and fraud. “It is said that investigation is going on. What kind of investigation is this where you put innocent people in jail without proving any guilt. This is dictatorship, will you people tolerate such dictatorship? God forbid that anyone should see such dictatorship. What is my husband’s fault? He improved the government schools in Delhi, provided good education, built hospitals and mohalla clinics. Mohalla Clinic is talked about all over the world,” she said.
Smt Sunita Kejriwal said Arvind ji is full of patriotism. When he passed IIT, all his friends went abroad to study, or for jobs, he did not go. He had to serve the public. Let me tell you one thing that no one knows yet. “When our marriage was fixed, Arvind ji had only one question for me. He asked that I have to do social service, will you have any problem? Tell me, they put such a person in jail,” she said.
Narrating the story of Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s struggle, Smt Sunita Kejriwal said Arvind ji got a job in IRS, that a very few people get. But he was passionate about social service. He took leave from job and started working for the poor. In 2006, he left his job and started working in a slum. They put such a person in jail. There was a movement (India Against Corruption) in 2011, you all know about that movement. He went on a long fast twice, for weeks for the rights of the people. He is a diabetic patient, the doctor advised him not to do so but he did not agree and risked his life. Arvind Kejriwal ji is such a person, he is very firm on his principles, she added.
Smt Sunita Kejriwal said when he became the Chief Minister of Delhi for the first time, he resigned in 49 days, not even a peon leaves his job. Arvind ji has no attachment to power, he just wants to serve the country. He has to make the country number one. He says that if educated and honest people do not enter politics, then how will the country progress? Many people say that no, it is very difficult. The jail lock will be broken, Arvind Kejriwal will be freed, Hemant Soren will be freed, she said.
Smt Sunita Kejriwal said that many people said politics is a very dirty thing, indeed politics is a very dirty thing. See, now there is a camera fixed on his food, each morsel of food is being monitored, what a shame it is. He is a diabetes patient and has been taking insulin for 12 years, takes 50 units every day, but he is not being given insulin in jail. These people want to kill the Chief Minister of Delhi. “These people cannot understand the thinking of Arvind Kejriwal ji. He believes that this country has given him a very good education, he has had a very good upbringing. This is a debt that he has to repay, he has to fight for the country, serve the country. And what to fear in this fight?” she said.
Smt Sunita Kejriwal said Arvind ji is very brave, he is a lion, he has only one thing in his mind that how to improve the lives of common people. Even in jail he is worried about Mother India. He has sent a message to you all from jail. He has said that this time if you give a chance to the INDIA alliance and hand over the responsibility, then together we will make this country very great. India is not an alliance in name only, we all have India in our hearts, she said.
Reiterating Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s commitment to provide six rights to the people of the country, Smt Sunita Kejriwal said, “He has given six guarantees for everyone. First, electricity will be available 24 hours a day in the entire country, there will be no power cuts. Second, every poor person will get free electricity. Third, government schools will be built in every village and every locality where good and free education will be provided. Fourth, Mohalla clinics will be built in every village, every locality; multi-specialty hospitals will be built in every district, where every countryman will get free and good treatment. Fifth, farmers will get fair prices for their crops as per the Swaminathan Commission recommendations. And the sixth and last, Delhi will be given the status of a full state. All these 6 guarantees will be fulfilled in 5 years, planning has also been done as to where the money will come from.”
Smt Sunita Kejriwal said we have received a lot of love from all of you. “It is only with your blessings and love that Arvind ji and Hemant Soren ji are fighting against these dictatorial powerful people. All of you stay with us in this time of struggle; Hemant ji, Arvind ji need your blessings. India is considered the spiritual capital of the whole world; we will not allow dictatorship here. We will destroy the dictatorship, fight, and win,” she said.
Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said this country is not anybody’s fiefdom. This country has 140 crore people. These people (BJP) are under the misconception that by putting them in jail they will suppress the voices of Arvind Kejriwal ji and Hemant Soren ji and destroy the party. Get someone’s MLA and MP defected, freeze someone’s accounts, so that no one can fight in front of them. If the BJP has so much faith in Modi wave, then what is it afraid of _ patriots like Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal? After 6 months they had to release Sanjay Singh. ED did not find any evidence against anyone. Similarly, they will also release Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal. These people fear the popularity of Arvind Kejriwal because wherever he goes, BJP gets wiped out.
CM Bhagwant Mann said the BJP is scared after the grand rally of INDIA alliance at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi on March 31. They are scared after the first phase of voting, because voting took place on 102 seats on April 19, out of which 80 to 90 seats are going to the INDIA alliance. We are not people who are afraid of jail. The Aam Aadmi Party emerged from the movement.
Addressing the gathering, AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said that this time the tribal community of the entire country will ensure that the BJP candidates lose their security deposits in elections. Narendra Modi also kept me in jail for 6 months. Our biggest leaders Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain are in jail. They are arresting our entire party and putting them in jail. Jharkhand’s most popular leader Hemant Soren ji was put in jail. Arvind Kejriwal ji’s message is that the whole of Delhi and the entire country is standing with Jharkhand in this fight, you do not need to be afraid. The people of Jharkhand have created Jharkhand under the leadership of Sibu Soren. BJP should not try to threaten people with jail who are fighting for their rights while living in the forest. Tribal, Dalit and backward communities of the entire country are standing together to see the BJP candidates lose their security deposit in election.
Shri Sanjay Singh said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s Constitution applies in the entire country. We all believe in his constitution. On one hand, the people of India believe in the Constitution of Baba Saheb, while on the other hand, the BJP believes in the Constitution of Nagpur. The Constitution of Nagpur talks about bringing the dictatorship of Narendra Modi by ending the reservation and elections for Dalits, tribals, backward classes. He said that this is the last election. Therefore, defeat them in this election and tell them that we will not allow the Constitution of the country to be changed. He said that the BJP candidate from Ayodhya, Lallu Singh says give us 400 seats, the constitution has to be changed. The BJP’s Jyoti Mirdha, former Union Minister of BJP government Anant Hegde said that we have to change the Constitution. Now the BJP candidate from Meerut Arun Govil said that the Constitution has been changed. Remember that if they change the Constitution, they will take away your reservation and your voting power in elections. In 2015, (RSS chief) Mohan Bhagwat had said that reservation should end. RSS leader Manmohan Vaidya talks about ending reservation. But as long as we are alive, we will not allow reservation and constitutional rights to be abolished, he said.
